Peel and stick no more?

So, I'm going to be tackling sound deadening this weekend, and was going to purchase the peel and stick (no debates, please) from Lowes. Well, after searching their site, doesn't appear I can pick it up in the store, and doesn't show an option to check availability. Makes me think they no longer carry it. I can have it shipped to me, but earliest date is May 3rd, kinda wanted it for the weekend. My new carpet should be here by Thursday, and really want to start getting the car back together.

Anyways, open searching Home Depots site, I found this Quick Roof Appears to me to be the same deal. 6" by 25' same basic stuff. Just wondering if anyone here had any experience with it? Is it the same stuff? I searched this site, but could find nothing. A couple bucks more than the Lowes stuff is all I could see different...

Re: Peel and stick no more?

Did you try to call lowes? Or call HD and confirm the product? Hardware store websites arent always that reliable. Especially for hardware or building type supplies. The stores or customer service are much more reliable.

Ace hareware's site in particular stinks big time when trying to see if they carry some stuff.

Re: Peel and stick no more?

Went to the two local Lowes around here, searched the roofing section, could not locate. The kid working at the second store didn't know what I was talking about, and tried to get me to buy some liquid leak stopper stuff in a 5 gallon bucket.

**Edit: They are both LARGE stores; Milford MA and Woonsocket RI

Not all the Lowes carry it, only the bigger stores do.

I had to have my nearest Lowes call a few other local stores, to find one that did carry it. That was a couple years ago, so they could have stopped carrying it all together. I hope not.

Re: Peel and stick no more?

Looking at the stuff you linked too, looks very similar to Seal and Peal.

Wish I had some Seal and Peal here, and I could compare the specs.

I think the Home Depot stuff is slightly cheaper though, I thought I remember Seal and Peal being 19.99 each.

Re: Peel and stick no more?

Lowe's website and Home depot's list the specs for both absolutley, word for word, identical. Lowes does have it listed for $14 and change, but shipped only. Like I said, I want to get this done this weekend, and it can't be here by then, that's why I'm considering the alternative. I guess I get to be the guinea pig...

Re: Peel and stick no more?

I had heard good things about the Quick Roof from Home depot and went to find some. Their website says it is a store stocked item, but all the stores I went to did not have it and had no idea what I was talking about.

Re: Peel and stick no more?

I used the Home Depot stuff in the doors of my wife's Camry and it worked very well. As I applied it, I used a heat gun to get it good and hot, then used a roller to press it down.

Re: Peel and stick no more?

Questions no longer relevent, for me anyway...

I bought this instead..

100 Sq ft of FatMat xtreme for $129 shipped...
I do believe it's asphault based, so probably about the same thing, but it's also about the same price. $15 for 12.5 sq ft is $120, plus taxes, I probably came out ahead...
