Hey guys will some seats from a 2000 pontiac fit a 3rd gen camaro or do i have to change the tracks?

Also these seats are the lumbar option seats with the driver side being electric, but im missing the harness, if you guys have this harness please let me know. Thanks

yes, the seats will bolt up. No need to swap tracks. you'll have to hookup the wiring, its not difficult, you just have to find the wiring guide, but you have to search here for that...

cool you should be able to modify your 3rd gen wiring harness with the 4th gen one to make both power options to work. i did it with my 4th gen camaro seats and it works great

the only thing is that the firebird seats have the lumbar option and fill up with air on the sides so i need that hose that comes with the harness. But if i cant get it ill just modify the harness of the third gen. thanks alot

you could prob run a hose from the engine compartment like off the vacuum off the motor, ill see how my friend has his hooked up

The drivers side seat has a small compressor built into it that power the lumbar.

The OP needs the line that runs from the compressor in the drivers seat to the passenger seat.

If you have the harness thet connects the seats to one another and the seats to the car then it's dead simple.

It's just a power and a ground that needs to be spliced into the stock electrical system, you can even chose between constant and switched power depending on what you want. With the OP havint a stock power seat he could just splice the two wires into the seats harness and be done but with the whole sub harness missing for the seats he'll need to do some wiring.

It shouldnt be difficult though, all the electronics are built into the seats so it's a matter of simply connecting the drivers seat to the body and the passenger seat to the drivers seat. I believe the crossover air line is a push in plastic line a size or two larger than wha tair suspensions commonly use.

I can check my set in my storage place sometime this week and draw up a simple schematic.

Yes your correct except that in the newer firebirds the compressor was changed to the passenger seat. I already have a pair of these seats in my 87 monte and i have the original harness, but i was missing the harness for these seats. So thats why i was just wondering if someone had the harness that connects the 2 seats together, and it also comes with the hoses that connect the 2 seats. Thanks guys

Really? I wouldnt think there would be enough room with the pass side hump.

Well maybe it'll help you in the weight distribution department, my drivers seat weighs a ton and I'm not exactly skinny so it'll take more than the battery in the right rear of the trunk to even all that mass out.

Yeah somewhere in some forums i read why they changed it to the passenger side i forgot though. And the seats i installed in the monte, i took out myself from a 2002 firebird and same thing, the compressor was on the passenger side.

i put a set of 98 trans am seats in my 89 camaro. the seats bolt right in. i did not have power seats befor so i had to make my own harness. and the seats i got didnt come with the harness.

if you have the connectors that go into the wires for the seats it is easy.

all i did was run the big orange wire to a power source. then make a splice in that wire to run to the passenger seat. do the same to the big black wire but run that to a ground. all the other wires just run from one seat to the other.

so pretty much all you doing is hooking the two seats together but the orange and black wires are Y to a power and ground.

i had the lumbar air pump under my pass seat so i used washer fluid lines and connectors that fit into the plug from the lines on the seat. then just ran those lines under the carpet to the drivers seat and pluged them in. everything works good.

When i got the seats from the guy i had him cut the connectors on the harness going under the carpet off so all i had to do was solder some wires to make the harness to that connector and then plug it into the seat harness and it all worked.

The air lines come out from under one seat and connect to air lines that go to the other seats. i didnt have any connectors for that so i used lines that my dad gave me and they were like fish aquarium air lines or windshield washer fluid lines. then i used connectors called vacu-Tite. they come in a small purple box. i got mine at auto supermarket. the pack has a couple different sizes so get the ones that fit nicely into the seat connector and the air line so they dont leak. when you hook them up make sure the black air line from under the seat runs to the black line under the other seat. Same with the white line.

Well hell! All he had to do was disconnect the chassis side of the harness (or cut the chassis side connector so you caould splice it easier) and pull it out from under the carpet that goes over the hump. You would have had the whole un molested seat harness with just the main power and ground to route.

In the case of my donor car atleast there was no issue simply pulling the seat harness out because it was entirely sepperate from any other harness in the car.
