grant steering wheel

hey guys i am wanting to do away with my stock radio controlled steering wheel because the leather is torn off and in bad shape and i recently purchased a kenwood unit so the controls are useless now... my question is which grant steering wheel is a complete bolt on to an 88 trans am gta steering wheel. or any nice black leather wheel for under 100 for that matter.... im tired of looking at my worn out steering wheel.... thanks...

Re: grant steering wheel

Yes just bolt in. You may need to buy and instalation kit (from summit its about $17), with the instalation kit you get a new wire to conect the horn. I metioned before you need a steering wheel puller, you need this tool to get the original wheel off. Are you considering buying from summitracing.com?

Re: grant steering wheel

You need a steering wheel puller and an installation adapter kit from Grant to do the job. It's pretty easy and doesn't take all that long to do.

Re: grant steering wheel

I didn't have a steering wheel with radio controls. When i had the wheel off you need to diconnect a short wire for the horn. Like i said i never a had deal with radio controls. The installation adapter kit comes with a new wire to attach to the new wheel. i would think the horn wire would be separate from the radio controls.

Doing this wheel change is much, much easier than it seems.

Yeah that was my experience as well. I didn't have radio controls either.
