Removing the dash on a 1991 Camaro RS
Hello, trying to drop in a carbed 350 in my old '91 RS. So I have to get the wiring harness out. I just can't seem to get it. You have to take the dash out right? Well I have been trying for houres and cannot get the dash out. I have been all through that thing pulling as many bolts as I can. Anyone have pictures on how it comes off or can offer advice. Is there a way to get the wiring out without touching the dash. I am totally stupmted. I have done a lot of work to this car and havn't gotten stuck yet. This is the one thing slowing me down. I would appreiate some help and advice.

if your talking about the wire harness on the passenger side take the wheel well out and un plug from there the computer can come out to just one small panel needs to be pulled on the other side of the plug you will have a hole as soon as the plug is out i just took a small piece of metal and some rtv and sealed it

as for the drivers side harness dont mess with the small plug thats all your lights save the 2 plugs for your wiper moter and all the plugs if your going to keep your heat and all the main power wires. all the others just cut a foot away from the plug tape and shove back in the loom

Since there's no demand in the world for a TBI harness anyway, I left mine in tact - just cut out the wires on thepass side engine side and tucked the ends in the fenderwell. I use them on occasion, for anything where I need wire from inside to outside (TC lockup switches, underhood lights, manual fan controls, etc.). Driver side wiring harness fully in tact and is used by the carbed motor - most of it is lights, wipers, etc. anyway.
No need to really take any of it out - especially driver side.

Re: Removing the dash on a 1991 Camaro RS
I just didn't see a need in hacking up my driver side harness since most is being used - I figured in the end I'd still have a harness I'd have to deal with and it wasn't worth a weekend to me to change that harness from 2 inches in diameter to 1 inch in diameter. I just didn't know what wasn't being used anymore - it seemed to me that everything on the driver side had someplace to go when I did mine, given most of it is lights.
