New ACC Carpet Fitment Issues
Hey. Just bought some nce carpeting for my 84 Camaro. Auto Custom Carpet, Super Plush, with Mass Backing. It has absolutely no holes cut in it. Does anyone have a picture or scematic as to where the holes go? If not I can figure that part out, thats' not the main issue.
The carpet seems to be big or something. the rear of the main carpet, where the buckets under the rear seats are, fit fine, but it seems there is mad excess material over the tunnel. I haven't cut or done anything to install it other than just lay it in place and glance at it. I just want to make sure it is in fact the proper carpet. Will it fit better once everything is tucket and pulled properly into place? I dont want any damn lumps anywhere. I will call ACC if I I can't get this thing to look right.
Thanks,
Oliver

Re: New ACC Carpet Fitment Issues
what i did when i put my new carpet in was lay the old carpet on top of the new carpet and use that as a guide to getting started on some of the cuts. i believe they make the carpet too big on purpose so that you can trim the edges to fit how you want them to. just remember.. baby steps.. if you cut off too much you're screwed. take your time and do a little at a time while you test fit and you will be golden.

You have too much at the tunnel because the edges at the door jambs need to be trimmed. Start at the tunnel and work your way towards the doors. Once you get the carpet nice and tight, trim the carpet at the doors to fit under the sill trim. They give you extra carpet at the edges to prevent any issues with fitment.
