How many sq. ft. covers the entire interior of the car?
Been searching all over but couldn't find an answer to this simple question. How many square feet should I buy of sound proofing material if I wanted to cover the entire interior of my camaro (behind door panels, up the sides of the car, cover the trunk section, up the interior of the firewall, floorpans etc)
My rough estimates are around 80 square feet, what are yours?

I went through about 75 square feet of peel-n-seal, and I haven't finished the hatch area though. That was enough to cover the entire floor pans, trans tunnel, and the panel behind the rear seats. I did have slight overlaps in some areas though, and I was really thorough, going as far up the footwell/firewall as possible. I did double up layers in a few spots behind the rear seat though, since it was one of the "loudest" spots I found by tapping on panels with my knuckle. I'd guess another 50 square feet or so to do my hatch area.

It depends on how much you want to cover. I took out all my interior and have done everything, doors in and out complete floor (even double the passenger floor), fire wall to the hatch opening, to the sail panels and top cross member, also got some spray to get the hard to get areas. I have a little bit more to do and so far I've gone thru 2 1/2 36sqft boxes and 3 cans of spray.
It just depends on how detailed you want to go, I even cut small pieces for the smallest spots, I just wanted to cover everything.

Thanks for the replies, this stuff isn't cheap so I didn't want leftovers I'm sure you can understand that
90-100 sq ft it is!
Using second skin's damplifier pro and then luxury liner pro on top of that for those who are interested.

Peel n seal, like this?

I've seen that stuff at lowes and wondered how it compares to dynamat.

Peel n Seal's not a bad alternative to the basic deadners. Works well on floors and readily available at the big home improvement stores. The are asphalt based, so they may smell a bit funny for the first week after its installed. I've used it with good luck but there are other options out there that will give better results with less layers; Raam mat and Sound Deadner Showdown products come to mind.
but P&S works well for most.
