Id like to know too. Tools required? Time? I can probably do it myself, but a guide is always more helpful! And I NEED these asap...current belts aren't working at all.

Hey guys
If you want to do the front belts your going to have to remove the plastic trim plate behind the top of the hatch. The sail panel covers are going to have to come off along with the coat hooks. once these are off you can bend the headliner gently back and access the to top bolts on each side.. bottomw is a breeze. Youll need torque fittings though.. The first time i did mine about hour it took. the second time. 30 mins. its not to hard just be patient and dont force things in and out of the way

Torx T-50.
Some on the bolts will be very hard to remove once the wrench rips so prepare the vise grips.

edit: also if you dont care about your carpeting (like me, it's black but it's supposed to be grey :X ), use some PB Blaster and give the bolt(s) a couple whacks, then let it sit for about a half hour.

Re: seat belt replacement, how much work?
Yeah, so I was really surprised today when I got the front passenger belt out in under 10 minutes. I was expecting a big ordeal with hidden obstacles, but it went as smooth as butter. I only needed a socket wrench with T-47 (T-50 fit but didn't go all the way in) for both lap fixtures and a 13mm socket for the 2 shoulder retractor bolts. I let a little WD-40 sit on the bolts for a day or two. Can't wait to get the new belts in the mail this week (replacement set same color $50 shipped on eBay) so I can complete the job. If it was that easy for me, it would be easy for anyone. When I save $$$ doing something myself, it's always easier to justify spending on things I really want for the car!

Re: seat belt replacement, how much work?
I'd be interested to see what stock style ones are available...generally, GM will continue to produce correct seatbelts for a car, but only in one color (usually black), and they usually cost an arm and a leg. Hate to say it, but I'd pay an arm and a leg for them if it came to that. Having grown up with GM cars, seatbelts were the first part that I knew was correct on a car even when I was five years old as they ALWAYS had the GM logo in the button, so it's just an absolute eyesore for me anytime I see anything aftermarket or without the GM logo on the button. Working at a dealer that only sells vintage and pre-owned Corvettes, I've seen many Corvettes that have had them replaced with the universal black belts with the bright red or orange button, and they just ruin an interior for me. In fact, I even describe them to our customers as "Volvo style" universal belts since they're so ugly, out of place, and look like the belts used in 1980s Volvo 240s that my parents' snobby friends drove.

Re: seat belt replacement, how much work?
Can I correctly assume that all seat belts for 82-92 Firebirds and Camaros are the same besides color differences?
