Re: seat track extenders
Just curious. Is the Firebird dash's legroom different than the Camaro? I'm 6'6" and drive a 5-spd and I haven't had any problems. Perhaps I angle my leg to the side (never really paid attention to it, LOL).
Would it be possible to remount the seat base farther back by changing the track's mounting hole locations? I've haven't really had a good look how it's set-up.

Re: seat track extenders
When I bought my car the driver's seat was stuck adjusted all the way forward. I'm 6'1", it's a 5 speed, and I managed to drive it around the block, but it sure as heck wasn't fun

Look at it from the bright side, if the heater didn't work, you could just press your knees together on your ears to keep them warm...

Re: seat track extenders
Yeah, I couldn't move my legs really, my knees were jammed up against the bottom of the dash. I had to press the pedals with my toes
Iroctopless: It would be easier to move the seat farther back on the track, instead of trying to change the seat mounting points. You could probably make brackets fairly easily, that would provide bolt holes for the seat track farther forward than stock. I wouldn't go too far, probably no more than 2" or so, or it will look odd, with the seat tracks showing in front of the seat.
