sound deading material

so I am at the point of doing a whole new interior. I want to use a sound deading material under the carpet to give it the "newer" car sound levels. I know it is gonna add weight, don't care. got enough power now so, I got looking at Dynamat, but they seem really expensive to do the whole passenger compartment floor. I know lots of other companies make similar material so the question is, what companies make this and how would you rate it compared to Dynamat? links would be great. thanks.

One product I have heard lots of good feedback on is b-quiet and brown bread.

http://www.b-quiet.com/

Unfortunatly I have not used their product personaly, perhaps this winter so everything I have heard is second hand. They have some good info on their site.

Good luck.

Check out edesignaudio.com

There sound deadener is awesome. Ive used both the V1 and V2 and love both of them. I think by far the best for the price.

I used to build houses with my brother-in-law. For home theaters we used cork board on the walls and it worked awsome. It was 30 bucks for a large sheet. Very workable. If you want the best deadening and truly don't care about the weight - this is your best option. - For my car, I was looking at some black paint-on

should be plenty for a car...

www.secondskinaudio.com - I've used these products and highly recomend them. The customer service is top notch. I recently ordered and one of the products they sent was wrong. I got in touch and they sent out the right one the next day and let me keep the wrong one free of charge.
I just did my firewall using a layer of Damplifier, Firewall, Overkill and Heatwave. All were quite easy to use, with Firewall being the easiest since it paints on.

Re: sound deading material

I was thinking of using some heat and sound deading material too. Does anyone know how many square feet are need for our cars? If someone has a breakdown for firewall, driver and passenger floors etc. that would be cool. Thanks.

Re: sound deading material

Rubberised under coating works some what as a sound deading barrier. One can that costs between $5 to $7 might cover 6 to 8 square feet real good.
Its best used on the out side of your car because when used on the inside it can stink for a few days. It only gives limited sound control too.
When used on the out side it helps rust proof your car real good. I have only used it inside on a few low places where water tends to collect.

I have my right side door taken apart now to replace the window motor and sparyed some on the in side of the outer most sheet metal. It looks like the factory sparied a strip of under coat in side the door but it is only about 2inchs wide and runs the length of the door. Since doors are some what rust prone I went ahead and coated every thing I could get the can on. Now when I knock on that door I don't get so much of a holow sheet metal sound any more. The door did make a "bongg" sound when I would shut it, now not so much any more.
