How to remove Gauge Cluster?
Anyone know what I need and how to remove my Gauge Cluster in my 84 Camaro Z28? I'm guessing I just need to remove the top part of the dash, then take out the cluster. But is there anything I should know before doing this? Don't wanna break anything!!

Re: How to remove Gauge Cluster?
Remove the black bezel around the cluster. Once that's removed, look in the white plastic rectangles that house the e-brake light, check engine light, etc., and you'll note a, I believe, 10 mm nut on each side of the cluster housing. Remove them. Move the seat back all the way. Drop the lower dash panel for access to the speedo cable and its clip (this clip holds the cable to the speedo head). A long-shanked, flat-bladded screw driver is perfect to trip the clip. A flash light/trouble light is indispensible. Once the cable is free, so is the cluster. Lowering the steering wheel, and/or dropping the steering column a fraction will help in the removal. To protect from scratches use a bit of masking tape on the steering column. This would be a good opportunity to remove the cable from its housing, flush the housing with brake clean until it runs clear, then relube the cable itself with something like Napa's Sil-Glyde.
