Can't get these wrinkles out of new seat covers...
I'm having problems installing my rear bottom seat covers. I've tried everything and can't seem to get them on without getting wrinkles on the inner sides. Are there any special tricks to getting them to lay nicer? The first pic is a new cover, second of an old cover, and third of them side by side.
Also, as you can see the color I ordered is way off from the original. Anybody know if there is a color closer to my originals? From the samples I got, seemed they were either too light or too dark.

I doubt that you'll be able to do much better with the color match. The problem isn't so much the color, but how the fabric reflects light. This would be a problem if your interior still had some of the old fabric, but since you're replacing all of the old seat covers (at least I'm assuming you are), I think that it'll look great once it's in the car. The new fabric looks much nicer and more plush than the original stuff, and I think it'll really improve how the interior looks.
As for the wrinkles, if you keep trying to work the material with your hands, you may be able to minimize them, but to be honest, I think you already did a pretty good job. I've seen recovers come from upholstery shops with a LOT more wrinkles than that.

I'd imagine once they get used a little bit (Yeah, ya might have to use your back seat, hah) the wrinkles will start to disappear, and they will start to look a little more like the old ones....

Go to a craft store and get some artifical cotton
Its the stuff they stuff into toy animals and generic pillows
Put some of that around the corners and high wear areas
What happens is as you sit on the seats you slowly grind some of the foam away and after so many years its a noticable difference compared to new covers

Thanks guys. I do have some batting from when I did my Chevelle seats. The foams looked to be in great shape so I didn't think I needed any. Maybe I'll give that a shot, otherwise I'll just deal with how they are now.

Mine look the same after 3 years, although you will lose a small amount of creasing after a while. I think the damage is done due to the way they are packaged.
