Way to remove door panel when window won't roll down?
I've got a 1991 Camaro RS with power windows and locks. The drivers side window will not roll down when the switch is activated, I changed the switch and it still won't budge.
I removed the door handle and all the switch hardware as well as the plastic lock actuator cover. Then I pulled all the plastic clips.
The panel hangs free now but without getting the window down I don't know how to remove the door panel. Does anyone know how to A) get the window down from where I am at? or B) Get the door panel off without rolling the window down.
Thanks in advance,
-Chris

You have to squeeze/push the black top trim toward the outside while lifting slightly at the same time..Starting with the side near the latch. There a few little clips in there.

That's how I used to remove them. I found out the trim cap will come off easeir if you lift it slightly and push it to the rear. It will clear the internal holding metal tabs and come off. With either removal method you first have to undo all the christmas tree clips from the lower portion of the door trim panel.

I finally got it. The upholstery clips were all out, but with the window still up the window sill was hitting the window and not letting the plastic tabs in the slots at the top come loose. We just ended up going ahead with removing the window motor assembly and the window guide rail, after that the window went down no problem. *grin* After that the door panel came right off, except the tab closest to the latch. The sheet metal had actually bitten into that tab nice and deep, I think that's why we couldn't get it off to begin with. Had to use a screwdriver from underneath to push the tab out.
One repaired window after a three hour ordeal trying to get the window assembly rollers back in the right rails.
I appreciate the responses. I'll take pictures of the passenger door and make sure to do it before the window motor completely dies. I figure a nice detailed photo FAQ would help someone in the future.
