monster tach mounting location
was planning on installing a 5" tach and was looking around for a good spot. I don't think there is much room on the steering column, plus I use my tilt each time I get in/out and it would hit the top of the dash anyway. Anyone with a good mounting location along with any other aftermarket gauge locations ie: a radio delete panel or brackets hanging from the two top center vents. Pictures would be good if any...

so what kind of bracket would you use since it would have to be mounted with the bracket on top of the tach, one that is supplied with the tach or something fabbed...

Re: monster tach mounting location
ok so I finally got it all done. What took so long was fabbing up the gauge panel where the radio used to be. It was harder to make than I thought it would since I wanted everything perfectly aligned. I'm happy with it and beats staring at the empty hole anymore...

Re: monster tach mounting location
thats originally where I'd like to have put it, but I'm always using my tilt and for me it would have been hitting the dashpad and there was plainly just no room. I also thought about the A-pillar but since I have a cowl I would have been eliminating even more visibility from my view...

Re: monster tach mounting location
that looks like a clean way to do it, nice job. I ran all my wires through the cigarette lighter hole though and I dont feel like rewiring it, but that's a way I would never have thought to do...

Re: monster tach mounting location
Mine is under the center vents, however I mounted it to the side of the dash (next to the cigarette lighter). I also flipped my shift light to the other side. Then I just tucked in the wires behind the radio trim bezel. All I need is a short piece of black split loom to hide the short length of wiring between the tach and bezel, I'm just too lazy to get around to it.
