re-rapping gta steering wheel

my steering wheel on my 88gta is shot and i have not been able to find a nice 88gta steering wheel around after looking for the past few years because it is the steering wheel with the radio controls. i was wondering if there is any place that i could send my wheel out to to have it re-rapped.
thanks,
brian

Check the Virtual Junkyard string and find out if rcar has one. They have just located a TON of third gen's and are parting out as fast as they can pull parts off. Might get lucky there.

This guy below will do an awsome job. This is the E-mail he sent to me. It has all the info you will need. Send him an email.

Chuck <chuckpelton@comcast.net>

Thanks for the inquiry. You can send us the wheel and your personal check for $175 and I will return it to you. Please make sure that the plastic piece on the back it protected very very good.

Thanks,

Chuck Pelton

Yeah, well I am having RCAR send me new wheel off of one of their 50 parts cars and it's only costing $75. It's not the wheel with the controls in it, but I'm sure he can give you a better deal than $175 and the loss of use of your car for however long it takes to have it redone. Just my opinion.

Sorry , I don't know anyone who can re wrap it. But do a search on 3rd gen or the internet. Theres got to be somebody. I have a 88 GTA wheel that also needs re wrapped. You could buy it and send it out to be fixed somewhere and still use yours in the wait ! Send me your email for pics.

I don't think he has a web site that I remember, but I will second his work. He did an awesome job on my steering wheel.

brp88gta,i just found and emailed 2 companies that specialize in leather steering wheel restoration.I asked for a rough estimate from them and will post back here when i hear back from them.I have a bad feeling it will probably cost more than its worth but you never know.

I just received this from one of the companies and i have already heard back from both: We'd be happy to recover your 88 T/A. We'll just match the leather color
that's on the wheel, and wrap it in the same style. Right now, our
turnaround time is 2-3 weeks. Your price is $259 plus shipping. Email or
call me with any questions. 972-412-7808.

I am very impressed on how fast they got back with me.Iwill post the price of the other company when i get it and will post the emails.
