4th gen Interior - door panels
I saw many of you put 4th gen dash on the 3th gen, it looks very hard and I am not able to do it, because there are only few 4th gen in Taiwan, I already swap 4th gen center console on my car, it costs alot but it is worth it, personally I think the 3th gen dash looks great, but I think the 3th gen door panel sucks, I change it to GTA door panels but I would like to know if any one successfully install the 4th gen door panel and looks great, I have saw some "almost done" but still in process......

do a search, and to answer your question 4th gen doorpanels will not work with the stock dashboard they will not clear up and the upper door panels will hit the side tips of the dashpad, making this virtually unoperitable

This is very off topic but can you use all 4th gen interior parts in 3rd gen because i have an 84 z28 with a horrible looking interior and I cant find alot of black interior to replace it with and I think the 4th gen interior looks better so i need a little bit of help thanks!!

Re: 4th gen Interior - door panels
It's not worth the hassle. Nobody has ever got them to fit 100% they just dont work. I currently have them in my car and they look ok but even then they just dont seem right to me. Gaps and other issues are why I pulled them in favor of a panel idea I came up with that isn't finished yet.
I have decals on the way to add some flare and possibly when I get better with vinyl skills I will try that.
This is a basic blend of newer t/a panels modified with 4thgen add ons. This way they fit without all the hassle of the 4thgen panels I have in my car now. I also have custom speaker pods in the works for these I will post better pics when its all done and on the car.

Re: 4th gen Interior - door panels
I'm interested in the same thing. I saw in an issue of my HPP from February 2008 with the article about Wade Flannery's '84 Trans AM that won at the TA Nats. He's got a combo GenIII/GenIV door panel that mates up to the GenIII dash very nicely. I'm not the best a fabrication so I'm looking to purchase a set of door panels similar to the ones he has in his car or if anyone can post up the ocntact information for the place he had his done at in Kentucky that would be great. Thanks.

i do have 4th gen panels in my car. they take a lot of work and creativity to make them look factory.
do a search for my username. it shouldnt be too deep in the pile.

Yes, I checked out your thread and you did an excellent job with your conversion. I'd like to retain my dash though so trying to figure out a way to combine the two is more of what I'm looking for. I've been thinking about it for the last couple of weeks and I guess I'm going to have to find some junk peiecs and see what I can come up with since no one is making these parts.

Re: 4th gen Interior - door panels
when i had my stock dash, i had gta door panels in the car, they mated very well together.
what i wanted to do, and never got around to, was to incorporate my seat pattern in the center of the door panel for a more uniform look.
the carpet is a weird texture on the panels and just doesnt fit the 3rd gen camaro theme.
now if they are in a firebird with firebird upholstry, they match. LOL.
good luck with your mods.
