Parting OUT 1984 Firebird

A buddy of mine has a 1984 firebird that he is parting out. Not selling motor or tranny as it has a 350 w/ th 350 tranny. But the whole bnoy and interior is avaliable. Has tan and black interior. He will sell entire body for 200 dollars and you do what you want with it. Still has 9 bolt underneath. Most parts can be shipped, axles and anything big must be picked up. BUYER PAYS SHIPPING. Otherwise its coming apart peice by peice. Located in 49331 MI

Re: Parting OUT 1984 Firebird

What is really messed up on mine is the shift indicator window. It has a piece of paper for P-R-N-D...

On the look out for seats, t-top headliner and visors, but my car is grey interior.

Could you take a few pictures of the inside and body? Do you know if the headlight motor's work? Might be interested in the body depending on the condition. s10man04@yahoo.com

Re: Parting OUT 1984 Firebird

Ill see what i can dig up. the car has aftermarket Cragar 15" rims on it. im looking to sell that set of rims for 100 plus shipping. They will need a good cleaning w/ chrome polish and 1 might need to be re dipped.

just a few exterior pics. Will sell car w/ no motor or tranny for $200. This includes axles, suspension, every thing you need for extra parts. May even throw the cragar rims back on for extra $100.

Are you refering to the gauge setup like your GTA? with the hatch switches under the gauge panel?

Re: Parting OUT 1984 Firebird

Well, I am interested in taking the trim and replacing the one in my GTA with it. I like the older style better. So I'd need it, with the switch panels, as well as the switches if possible with the connectors and a couple inches of wiring.

I may also need the headlight switch; I think they were different in the earlier years.

Re: Parting OUT 1984 Firebird

I've purchased this car and have it with me. I've taken most of the interior, but so far have not done much to the dash. The door skins and parts (all manual) are for sale as well. Is anyone here still interested in parts? I'll be willing to sell pretty much everything that has been mentioned (except maybe the shift plate, i think I broke it pretty badly)

I'll sell you whatever piece you want of the door. Just tell me where to cut and I'll cut it. I honestly don't consider the sheet metal to be worth all that much, so the price will be based more on how much time I have to spend cutting, rather than how large of a piece you want. (and on shipping)

Once I know how large the package needing to be shipped is, I'll give you a shipping quote. But for instance, a fairly flat package that measures 30"x20" and weighing 30 pounds would cost about $50 USD to ship. I hope that gives you an idea.

Ill take some pictures, outline it and edit my post. Im gonna try my welding skills but i assume it will warp, so might as well just replace it if its cheap. Ill also gather a list of small peices Ive been searching for.

Thanks.

Re: Parting OUT 1984 Firebird

Sounds good. On these doors, I am taking the interior panels, and I don't think any of the rubber is good. But aside from that, all the metal, guts and the mirrors (manual) are up for sale. Anything your willing to pay to be shipped I'll ship. There is a small amount of surface rust on the bottom edge of the doors, but nothing appropriate prep work wouldn't erase anyways.

Sorry guys, neither the radio trim nor the lock on the hatch are still intact. The radio trim was gone when I got it, and the whole rear hatch locking mechanism was frozen up when I got it, so I had to destroy it just to get the rear hatch open.

Re: Parting OUT 1984 Firebird

I've had a ton going on and a friend pass on recently, and I simply don't have the time or desire to tear into this parts car anymore. A local member of this forum gave me an offer for everything and will be taking it away thursday. I'll let him know people may be interested in some parts, and he can work with it from there.

Thanks for the responses, and sorry I couldn't help out much. So this car moves on yet again...

Is the radio trim plate still in good shape. Some upstanding citizen broke into my '83 Trans Am last week, stole my stereo, and cracked the trim plate in the process.
