what did this mean???

i dont have the codes with mer but they all read SPRING, COMPUTER SELECTED and named a specific corner when i looked the rpo's up, what does this mean??? i know my iroc and my rs has these, did all cars have it or just some? what? please help?!?!?!? :hail:

Springs for all of our thirdgens were computer selected, but the selection varied with the suspension level installed.

I think what they mean by computer selected is, The spring rates for a given car are selected by option content. for example a automatic V-8 with Air conditioning would get a slightly stiffer spring than a V-8 w/o Air conditioning. The "computer" at the factory would take into account the model, Body style, options , suspension types and so on for a certain car, then would recommend the correct spring type for the specific car.
