Ok what wheels came on a '87 Formula

Ok I know there's a 15" and 16" available, right? Ok what different styles of the 16" are there? Is there a dished and flat style?

All Formulas came with 16" rims stock.

As for 87's, those only came with the flat style, they are actually convex.

Ok so there is a 16" rim that is flat then, or convex

these wheels were used on ALL 87 Formula's and TA's with the WS6 option: (RPO: N96)

What is also interesting is they list the wheel in 1988 as well, the Deep dish Formula wheels which are more common on the Formula's are (RPO: PEO)

Just thought I'd add that those wheels are also heavier than the "honeycomb" style wheels (as seen below) that came stock on '86 TAs and certain other thirdgens. I've always preferred the look of these over the formula wheels.

Iroc22,
yup, that was the "hot" color for the Formula in 87, it seems as though they used the Yellow more than any other color for their advertising that year. They used it for Mag spots, the front cover of the Pontiac broshure, everything.

The only difference between my car and the cars in the pix is my car has the stripe delete on the bottom. I did not much care for the dark gray so when I re-painted my car I eliminated it altogether.

I had some scans of the ad your talking about with the pic of the Formula in front of the "pontiac" semi. But when my hard drive crashed I lost it. Would it be possible to scan me that page for me. I would like a good enough scan to read the text at the bottom if you could, I would really appreciate it...

thanks

John

Yeah thats the one I have with the Semi in the back. Sure I was planning on scanning a bunch of old sales media and articles from my Dad's hot rod mags. I have one from '90 with the 12 second SLP Formula if you want that one too......

Just for giggles--here's my(what's left of it anyway)89 Formula w/the concave type rims. They're the 16's w/the silver center caps(missing)and the 245's 16's on them.
