Just post the link! I'd like to see a factory convertible without GFX.
Here's my 1988 Sport Coupe Convertible. Last year of the sport coupe, only year it had GFX, only one of 2 year (87+88) that it was available as a convertible. A little more then 2000 SC converts were produced and 14-15 years has probably taken a good hit on there population since they're not super desireable.
Look here near bottom:

1 of 3,321 with factory block heaters, and 1 of 5,329 V8 RS convertibles, for 1991. But how many 1991 RS convertibles with a V8 had a block heater? I doubt there were that many. Not really rare, or noteworthy, just cheesy.

Unexplained mixup at the plant resulted in the wrong body arriving on this car... also painted in an attractive semi-gloss black with grey primer speckles. Very rare indeed LOL. (just in case anyone was wondering... no I will not trade the rims for the equivelent firebird 16x8's)

you are one lucky guy, with that black/charcoal 82 S/E... I remember that car being on ebay. That is a SWEET car .. the exhaust on it is cleaner than my T/A with 3000 miles. Mine has a bit of underbody surface rust here & there, especially on the dual resonators on the end of the mufflers, where yours looks clean enough to lick, heh. I actually bugged the seller of that 82 S/E and he sent me some extra pics not in the ebay auction. Here they are:

Here's an animation of my 82 Recaro done just today:

(her name is natalie, named after the 80s Firebird Girl.) I'd love to see more pics of your 82 S/E. The seller said it was missing one of the 2 S/E sail panel emblems, and it was that way since new.. is that true? That's very odd.
I will upload all the new photos I got of my car today to the old collection.. bug me by email to send you a URL, otherwise I will forget

my camaro is a one of two. After GM lost the rights to use the name IROC in 1990, because the iroc races started using dodge daytonas, GM had to come up with something else quick for the 1991 model year. So someone at GM came up with the idea of a camaro ZR1. It came with specific 16" polished wheels, a very different taillight package, and the hood blisters that eventually made it to the 1991 Z28. The first prototype, my car, was just a 1987 iroc that GM modified to show off their ideas for the ZR1 camaro to the top brass. The second car was a 1990 car pulled off the line and never fully assembled, that was to show off the new interior with the airbag and all, but visually match my car externally, except for the addition of the high rise wing, which did make it onto the 91-92 z28s. They were to fit it with specific ZR1 badging, and a 6 speed transmission, but the car was never finished, as GM soon after opted to go with the Z28 name again. A lot of the ideas did trickle down to the ZR1 corvette soon after though, such as the slightly squared off taillight shape, and the wheels, but in a 17" package. And others yet made it to the 1991-1992 Z28, such as the power blisters and the high rise wing that was put together for the second prototype car.

Heh, did it also come with that ridiculously crooked exhaust with chrome muffler tips? If it's truly a one-of-two, I'd expect the owner to take better care of it. That car just looks like an aftermarket potpourri to me.. Do you have any documentation for it as coming that way from the factory? Just seems fishy.. don't mean to diss your ride.

it's like a board full of vulcans.. "Error, that is highly illogical. It cannot possibly be done by GM."
my whole story above is complete and utter crap, which most educated thirdgenners would pick up on immediately.
Obviously I'm not a newbie, if you look at my post count and my registration date, and the trained eye would know that. Mostly newbies post uninformed useless garbage, but there are exceptions to that, like un4givin89 and vortech305 for example, who have both outlived newbie status on a timeline and postcount basis, but still post tons of garbage.
The car is an 87 iroc-z, nothing more, one of 83million irocs in 87 and i personally did all the modifications.
However your comment about it not looking like anything GM would produce is way off the mark.
The power blisters? A GM part.
The wheels? an exact reproduction of a GM part!
Taillight lenses? GM part.
The only thing that's not available from GM is the fiberglass taillight panel. But would GM stick vette taillights on a camaro? well take a look in the early 70's for your answer on that.
there is pretty much nothing on the car that gm hasn't done. I just took a 1980's car, ditched all the stuff that made it look so damned 80's, took a bunch of 1990's styling cues (and a few 1970's) and parts, threw them in a big bowl together, mixed it up, and this is what came out.

Man this is a cool thread
It seem the older a car gets the cooler it becomes. I also bought a black and gold T/A back in 84, it was a salvage car but it looked as good kizz and 83 S/E is sweet, that interior looks as good as new.
Gotta love the 92 1LE T/A in the cool yellow, keep them coming

it was a joke there mr. spock, have a sense of humor ....what i was saying in my last post was that it was a joke, it was obvious bull**** the whole way around, and there were tons of clues there, from my post count, to my website that has all sorts of **** on the car, to the story in general which was complete crap.

Chris (aka CS2000) tried to post a pic of his car very early in this thread and couldn't get it to fly. Here it is:
1987 Camaro Sport Coupe Convertible
"20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition"
1 of 263 produced
<IMG SRC ="http://community.webshots.com/storage/1/v5/4/5/32/31840532SgfXOHWqIx_ph.jpg">
Of the 263, there is only one verfied to exist with the LT option.
And while I'm at it, here's mine:

1 of 744 produced
<IMG SRC ="http://community.webshots.com/storage/1/v0/2/75/63/25527563CuSsTvFRFm_ph.jpg">
The polished IROC-Z wheels are not original (obviously). I have the original 15"x7" wheels but don't like them as much as the 16-inchers...

Of the 744, approximately 650 had the IROC-Z option. Mine does not. Including mine, there are 12 verified to exist. Of the 12, only two have the 305 TPI/5-speed. Mine is one of the two.

Daaamn, Willie... looks like you're sittin' on a keeper, there!
Blue502- I got the red x's as well... had to cut and paste the pic's location from the 'properties' breakdown into my browser to view (right click the pic, select properties)
Wish mine was a bit rarer.... it's one of around 1200, from what I can tell. I read that around 1200 bird 'verts were made in '91-'92... I don't know how many of those were Trans Ams, however, or how many had separate option packages, such as automatic vs. 5spd, etc. I'm lovin' it just the same, tho!

Well, it ain't a thirdgen, but it's possibly the rarest Firebird out there....
There ain't much in this world that's uglier than a 'bird with whitewall tires. The website I found this at is

I don't get it. Yesterday, the pics I attached were there. This morning, I got red "x's" too. I went to Edit, copied and pasted one of the pics. It was there. Then I reloaded this page and all three pics showed up. I don't know what's going on.

Yeah, the Firebird III is fugly... but it's not an F-body... That concept car was released something like 10 years prior to the firstgens if my memory serves me correctly... It may have been a seed to the F-body idea though.

Wow! only 2 Camaros have been posted... I guess the one thing the Firebird got was more rare options... GM had a hard time making up its mind.
