Differences between IROC and Z28
What are the best ways to tell between an 87 IROC and an 87 Z28? I plan to look at a car for the wife, and I want to be sure what I'm looking at. I've been told that it is an 87 with 350 TPI and an automatic trans. According to this site, the 350 was only available in the IROC. Thanks for the help.

If its an IROC it will have code B4Z on the RPO tag in the center console glovebox. If it is a 350 it will have an 8 for the 8th digit in the vin #. Another thing to look for is whether it has a wonderbar (bar that goes across the front from side to side attached to the steering box and frame), since only the IROC got that.

Car: 1986 IROC-Z
Engine: 355 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23 Posi
The IROC will have the same color for body and grdfx. A Z28 will have different color grdfx (factory). The IROC should have 'IROC' rims. The dash on the IROC will say 'IROC-Z' under the Z28 symbol. The IROC would most likely have fog lights. Thats about all I can think of off hand... Here are some pics to help...
