I always considered them hatchbacks.
Some fastbacks are also hatchbacks, but not all hatchbacks are fastbacks.

A fastback would have a more flat sliding like rear ie third gens corvettes, Fb mustangs etc.

Re: We’re third gens considered fastbacks?
If that is the case, then our 3rd Gens are Fastbacks. That's how I see them anyway, but never called them that way. I do know that the 60s Mustangs with the normal rear window and trunk deck lid is considered a notch back. That would be the case for the 1st F-Bodies, even though the 2nd Gen had a swooping down rear window and normal trunk lid, that could also be considered a Fastback. It has the same style or swooping rear window as the Mustang.
But, to be honest. I think they consider it a Fastback when the Sail Panel lines angle down towards the back. And since all of the F-Bodies have a straight vertical Sail Panel, I don't think it can be called a Fastback. Same with the Corvette. Only the glass is angled down, not the Sail Panel.

I wouldn't call that list definitive nor is user created wiki article any kind of authority.
For instance they have the Toyota Supra listed for basically it's entire production run, when some years it was obviously a hatch back -
While the nearly same style of hackback Corolla isn't -
Nor is the Honda CRX -

i Agee on the Corolla too similar to the c4 corvette and the third gen it’s as if they forgot about certain cars.

Did I just login to the wrong forum? Look I don't have anything against "hot-hatchbacks" I just don't want them thrust in my face. OK? There's enough bad taste and poor judgement around here without posting a bunch of rycers.
Thirdgens are hatchbacks. That thing in the back, the 3rd door, is a hatch. Deal with it.

Its just using other cars to backup their opinions of the third gen, so its still third gen related.
To me, the 3rd gen is a hatchback though that will certainly **** off a few grumpy old men.
I consider a Fastback pretty much the same thing as a third gen, except it has a trunk instead of a hatch.
My Focus RS is most definitely a hatchback.

"We are thirdgens considered fastbacks?"
The profile ain't got nothing to do with it. You're clearly a Wikipedia fan, take it from the wiki's mouth.
Please stop being dumb, or maybe be dumb somewhere else whe're they embrace that kinda thing. Have you heard about Facebook Groups and Youtube's comment section? They celebrate dumb.

LOL, never been called that before. That was actually pretty funny even if you did misspell that too.
