OKFOZ,
Here is where we are at. TGO has for the purposes of this thread become "fake news". Despite the images posted by our friend Chazman at post 558 and my complete dismantling of that narrative starting at post 589,- several trouble makers (now openly aided and assisted by the moderators) continue to operate a form of Kabuki theater in a purely political context.
You guys are caught. Period - and you know it.
Caught red handed exploiting the good name of the Barrett-Jackson Auction company by misrepresenting the physical condition of LOT 442.1 at Westworld and hosting the images here, all this despite the fact that this entire narrative was proven false starting at post 589.
As of now this shameful activity continues to run right out in the open.
I am asking you for the umteenth time. Think before you post.

Re: 1989 IROC 344 original miles
What did we get caught red handed with? Proving that the taillight in question is in fact from the car you sold? Also, proving that the supposed scratch on the door was an overhead light reflecting on the top of the door? Those "caught-red-handed" photos that were hosted on Facebook and copied to TGO show exactly what they are, photos of the car you sold at BJ. Again, nobody said anything about dust or lint being photoshopped in, you did. We were only interested in the paint that was shown on the trim, and that has yet to be proven inaccurate.
Now, if you're trying to tell us that our questions of the paint are no longer of concern to you, and BJ is now guilty of misrepresentation of the vehicle, I can only ask who provided them the details of the car prior to the sale? I would think that they don't have enough staff to fine tooth comb all 1840 cars that were recently shown. You wanna know something, Phil, BJ can also plead ignorance and state they had no knowledge of the repaint and they didn't overly examine the car prior to the sale because it only had 344 miles. Guess what? People would be ok with that and move on. It's the buyer's responsibility to know what they purchase.
I don't remember if it was you or another member that stated something to the effect that cars go across the block that don't even run at these auctions and the buyer wouldn't know it because you can't test drive them while there. Again, that's on the buyer. BJ is just the consignment shop. I have no idea what their liabilities are in the sale of an item and I don't care. Their job is to sell a car and they did. I'd like you to explain how we've been "Caught red handed exploiting the good name of the Barrett-Jackson Auction company by misrepresenting the physical condition of LOT 442.1" . We aren't misrepresenting anything. But I do like how you're using these key words to try and trap us in some legal crap that you're cooking up.
Get a life, Phil. You're done here. (and for the record and those watching from outside TGO, that doesn't mean Phil is banned from TGO)

Re: 1989 IROC 344 original miles
You know, Phil, why don't you let us know where the car is and we can make our own arrangements, one person or two, to see the car and verify it? And you know what? You can keep your $50k because we've already told you that it has absolutely nothing to do with the $$. If the car is within the driving distance of any of the members that have been a part of this thread, why not let them see it once and only once, not a free for all for all to just drop in and see, and they can report back to us. In fact, I'm sure the TGO member would probably be willing to buy you lunch, regardless of the outcome, because this is who we are. You know where the car is and you know what members live where based on their profile, so you can even pick who goes.
The problem now is that the paint on the A pillar trim could be easily gone now with off-the-shelf detailing supplies. The taillights could have easily been swapped by now. Granted, the scratches shown above would be the tell tale sign to a tail light swap, but whatever. At this point, I don't think anybody cares anymore.
I hope the new owner is happy with his car, and you're happy with your money, cause that's all that matters. This thread is still going because you keep making yourself out to be something you're not. And, it's actually comical.

Please stop. You're posts are getting ridiculous.
BTW, another board rule that you're in violation of is post count whoring. By responding to your own one liners, you're jacking your post count and not contributing anything valid to the thread.

Where's the hoax? What hoax? Nobody said anything about this being a hoax, except you.
You can have your rules, but don't expect anyone to take you up on your offer. It's ridiculous and you know it. Like I said, we'll do it for free! Your angle is that if nobody is willing to put up $50k, then you must be right and this is all just a way to make you look bad. It doesn't work that way. You've already made yourself look bad. All you needed to do was show one or two pics, at the same time of the auction, to discredit the other photos, but you had the car removed so NOBODY could validate the findings. Now we're supposed to follow your rules. I don't think so buddy.

if the car is not as represented at Barrett-Jackson as opposed to the images in contention. Then I will pay our brave keyboard warrior $50,000 USD
if the car is as represented then our brave keyboard warrior is paying expenses and the cancer society $50,000 USD and expenses / and will become a you tube sensation in the process.

Re: 1989 IROC 344 original miles
I would be happy to come verify the car is as you say it is. I don't particularly want to spend $50,0000 for the privilege (or $5,000 for that matter). It's a beautiful car regardless of whether it had some paint work done at some point or not. I doubt this is important enough to anyone on here to make a $50,000 bet on it.
If you don't have access to take similar pictures from the same angles and prove its a different car or the photos were manipulated or misleading that's fine.
People have said the car was misrepresented and I understand why that would offend you and why you would feel like you are being attacked. I'm not sure threats and challenges are the best way to respond, but you do you.
From reading through the thread it seems like many of the people who posted genuinely have (or had) respect for you. You've lost respect for some of them and some of them may have lost respect for you.
Don't you think you would have been better off saying: " Here are my credentials (which are impressive), I stand by my evaluation, I don't think those pictures accurately represent the car I sold, I don't have access to take new pictures unfortunately so you will have to decide on your own to take my word for it or not."
I think a good number of people on this thread would have actually taken your word for it believe it or not.

Re: 1989 IROC 344 original miles
Phil, Let me point something out here... You posted this, but I dot not think you thought it all the way thru.
On the one side
1) You are willing to give someone $50,000 if they come and look at the car and find out that the car is not an original paint car.
2) You are willing to pay for the plane tickets for Two people to fly in and see the car
3) You are willing to pay for a camera crew to film the experience
4) You are willing to pay for your own time, tickets whatever to where the vehicle is located.
5) You are willing to pay for an independent verifier.
On the OTHER side
1) You want someone to give $50,000 to a charity of your choice
2) You are willing to pay for the plane tickets for Two people to fly in and see the car
3) You are willing to pay for a camera crew to film the experience
4) You are willing to pay for your own time, tickets whatever to where the vehicle is located.
5) You are willing to pay for an independent verifier.
Therefore regardless of the results, according to your challenge, in your own words!! you are paying for someone's tickets, a Camera crew, your tickets, and the verifier, and possibly $50,000...
Seems like you did not think this thru...

Sorry chief, I don't have the time and I really don't care that much to fly over and see the car.
Maybe I can send you and the new owner some $$$ to replace your 2MP cameras from 2002 so you can take some real pics of the affected areas.
Does anybody want to pitch in?
TAKE THE OPC NORWOOD CHALLENGE lolol.
You still have not provided ACTUAL PROPER PICS of the areas in question. Again, I don't really even care anymore. It's a pleasure trolling you and seeing your ridiculous responses. Lololol film crew.
I'm convinced you are losing your mind... Hanging on to your sanity by threads.

So here we stand, once again, the keyboard jousting has resumed. At a standstill for all the world to see who can play thumb war better...
I believe it was mentioned before, all of the questionable areas of the car can easily be corrected within an afternoon. You know very well Phil that anyone taking this would be a lunatic, especially considering how easily it could be fixed... When they arrive, the problem areas are now gone...
You win Phil! You got us all backed into a corner like a pack of scared squirrels. You have challenged a gaggle of 3rd gen F-body owners who complain about $3000 cars being too expensive with an obscene proposal. You might as well said a Million Dollars, BUT we all know that no one has the time nor the desire to actually put this to rest, when some quality pictures of the parts in question are all that is requested...
Clap..... Clap .... Clap....
