Wow nice car. Id say 10-12k maybe to the right person. The 3.73 5spd and being a Trans Am is huge plus. I love it.

Re: 1983 Trans Am 33k original miles barn find
For an 83, it's missing a few desirable options that would help the car. The LG4 was the base V8, and while I consider that a functional upgrade over the CFI, I could see a collector being more interested in the fuel injection. Likewise not being an L69 also hurts it a bit. No T-tops, personally doesn't bother me but to some that's a big deal. I don't see WS6 or WS7 on the list of options, and it looks like it has standard drums in back. Also isn't a Daytona 500 pace car, or a Recaro. It's not black with tan interior, so less potential Knight Rider cred. Firebirds generally aren't bringing the bucks that the Irocs are bringing, and early cars don't have the same pull as TPI cars.
Ultimately all of the above just means it's not worth as much as it could be if it were just a little bit different. Best place to start with any authority is the NADA Classic Car value. Keep in mind, NADA Classic value doesn't really look at mileage, or break down condition too much, and it's a retail price (ie you'll get less as a private seller).
http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Ca...r-Coupe/Values
Not sure the direct link will work, but with the basics punched in, it's showing Average Retail as $9,180, High Retail $18,120. The High Retail value is pretty much a pipe dream. As a private seller, selling to the general public, short of a big auction, $10-15K is probably about right. That assumes that the car is detailed to spotless condition, top and bottom, no spray bombs under the hood or under the body, no glaring defects.

That's what I was thinking rite! I actually like the LG4 because its easy to upgrade. Wouldn't do anything to this car though except rare driving excursions to shows and such. I had a CFI car and I didn't keep it that way long. We called it cease-fire injection. Looked cool but it was finicky.

Not sure yet what I'm gonna do.. Still processing everything I've had GTA's, a IROC-Z. I think this car needs to go to a collector. Its just to original for me. I was gonna cut it up and LS1 or 2 swap it but its just to nice .

Very cool car, & pleeease don't upgrade anything.
They are only original once. But iF you insist, build a completely separate engine & do a swap so nothing is modified & can be returned to stock. But, I am biased, I love surviving original stuff regardless of options.
I often don't want to even turn a bolt on my cars if it was installed last on the assembly line.
Love the car! I had an LG4 in an 82 recaro T/A back in the day. Might not have been very fast, but ran very well. Super easy car to drive.

Re: 1983 Trans Am 33k original miles barn find
I noticed it has the turbo style hood. Wasn't that supposed to be just on WS6 cars? I thought I read that on here somewhere a while back. Did somebody add it, or maybe that was true on later years or forumula? Or its just too early in the morning & I haven't had enough coffee yet.... The CL add needs some good picts of the front end & engine compartment imo.

6500 is a very good price. If it wasn't halfway across the country id probably put my son on that one. We have looked at several third-gens locally and every one have been disasters.

Hey guys I talked to a guy in Iowa, and the hood is correct its odd that it has a L69 hood on a LG4 car, but at the Norwood , oh plant they really didn't pay that close attention to detail. I do know it was built between 02/21 and 02/26 of 1983. And the first year for the 5 speed option. 82 where 4 speeds. It is still available.

All 1983 Trans Am's had this hood.
This car has the wrong air cleaner lid.

They payed close attention at Norwood - those that say they didn't don't know how an assembly line runs.

You can disregard my comment above (#25) about the hood bulge. I just found the original thread I was referring to & I just re-read that it was 1982 only for the WS6 & that hood. then standard on 1983. I wonder how many 1982 trans am's I saw back when I had mine that I thought were clones because of the hood. So little info back then.

Great car. A red Trans Am with black mirrors and spoiler. Super futuristic car when debuted. Looks great today.
LG4. Forever TGO scorned. I never get that, particularly with a classic in this condition. I appreciate that it's a TRANS AM. Same for Z28. The two most important options. And not mandatory. V8 might be the most important option for some.
Gotta love a Trans Am or Z28. Including parked with the hood closed.
