Value question
I am new to the forum and please move this to the correct forum.
I love this site and finally created an account. Lots of really helpful info here.
I have an 83 Z28 and 89 IROC. I was curious to get some opinions of what my 83 is worth. It’s one of the 3200 L69’s that came out that year with the 305 HO, 5 speed and 3.73 posi rear end. The care is rust free and that was the main reason I got it. I have restored the car and have plans to let my son have it when I leave this planet 20 years from now or I hope I make it to 70. J
Here is what I have done. The car was completely stripped inside and coated with Eastwood encapsulator and dyno matted. The care was take apart front fenders off, hood, new front bumper, doors removed and then pained with base coat clear coat.
All new suspension
All new breaks
Rebuilt T5 with swapped world class model
GM crate 350
New intake and carb
AC converted to R134
New radiator
New Starter
Everything on the engine is new.
New Console
New shifter
New dash cover
New Speakers
New Carpet
New door rubber all the way around
New Door panels
New Seats
New Exhaust front to back with headers and new Y pipe.
Fully undercoated
And more. Basically 90% New parts.

Re: Value question
Car looks nice, but you probably should've painted the ground effects silver. The reason is, people will know it's a repaint and will think it's a cheap job due to monochromatic paint scheme on a car that should have the two tone. Most 82-84 Z28s with a single color paint job have been quick/cheap jobs. Not sure what the value is in it's current condition as the value will change based on time of year and location of the car.

Re: Value question
Yeah, save that dual snorkel setup. Not to contradict sofa, the duct parts are a pain for engine/battery access and pulling the air cleaner. You would probably have to change the upper AC hose should you return to using ducts.

Re: Value question
Yup, has the LG4 AC line setup on it.
I'd also agree with painting the GFX the correct color, putting the stripes back on, and putting the HO stickers back (or painting the trim on... that would be my choice in a resto-mod, over stickers).
And, do something about that death-trap fuel line, in the middle of all that chrome. Looks .... kinda .... yeah ..... in addition to being a liability that could burn the car to the ground at any moment.
Seems as though "value", defined as what a willing buyer would pay a willing seller for it, is going to be hard to determine, and a moot point in any event since at least one of the 2 key ingredients would appear to be absent.
Sharp looking car though. Nice that the "chin" of the GFX doesn't sag in the middle like they usually do.
