Camaro console top value
Hey would like to get some of your thoughts on the value of a console top. It appears NOS in a dealer box, but has some screw head marks at bottom of console bin but no metal speed nuts for shift plate, climate or radio. Condition is very good and appears unused. Note e brake rubber gasket. Date on back is 1987 I believe. Let me know what you would call it to sell, NOS, or used. I know these are reproduced but this is OE.

Re: Camaro console top value
I have found new parts from the dealer have been in worse shape than what we would get from the factory. What I mean by that is that the plastics may have scratches, stickers are stuck all over the face of the product, etc. The factory seems to get the best pieces and the rest are boxed up and shipped any way they can ship them.
I would advertise it as NOS upper console for an '87 Camaro. It can be used on other years, so you may want to advertise that also.

It looks to have been in a car at some point or you wouldn't see the indentations around the screw holes. However it could have been installed by mistake in the factory and then taken out before it saw any use.
I would still sell it as a NOS piece though since it is in such good condition.

I wouldn't call it NOS unless you KNOW it's NOS. Just as easy to say "in factory box and appears unused " while not promising "NOS". ( people often hear "NOS" and think it's still going to be a "perfect" part ! )
P.S. This Upper Console has a notch in the console pocket for the 90-92 SIR module. I'd be sure to mention it 'cuase even though it fits all 82-92 Camaros,..... the 90-92 cars MUST use this style if the SIR module is still installed.
Edit: Looking at the slot made for the console pad arm on the back drivers side,....... this is almost certainly a NOS part. ANY Upper console used for a little while will show wear in that spot from the console pads' swing/arm. ( but that doesn't change what I wrote above ! )

I agree John, I don't want to be misleading in anyway. My word is worth more than a console lid. Probably best described as an OE part that has been mounted but not used. Great info on the SIR module notch.

Part number on console 10143921 is a good GM number for the upper console. Part no longer available from GM.

Re: Camaro console top value
Not misleading, It's as close to NOS as any of us here will probably ever find, meaning in the general publics eyes,... It will pass for NOS. (IMO better under-state rather than over-state something, I'm just 'weird' like that.)
I sorted thru about 20 of these things last week and was surprised to see that EVERY ONE of them (used) had a significant "notch" rubbed/worn into it from the arm rest swing arm. The spring just pushes that arm exactly the same way every single time the console is opened...... !
This piece is in VERY nice shape and would be worth more to me anyone else is probably willing to pay. If your keeping your ride; I'd put it right back in the box and forget about it - but that's just me !

Re: Camaro console top value
I'm going to put this one on the parts for sale area for 180.00 shipped. I have a 1LE Trans Am and this will need to go to someone with a Camaro.
