Fiberglass Hoods?
Was picking through a junkyard for a nice straight flat hood to make my 83' Camaro NHRA class legal again when I found a fiberglass hood on a Camaro. Never seen one before, I bought it for $38 and put it in the backyard. Were these put on a lot of cars? What years? With the stock re-enforcement under it it's not real light but different.

Re: Fiberglass Hoods?
Chevy referred to them as SMC hoods meaning Sheet Molded Compound.
I have a NOS insulator for these hoods if anyone is in need. It's for a carbureted motor.
