90 TA 1LE 1 of 4 Going to crusher!!!!!
For reference - read the previous post for which this is an update. Yesterday, I received a call from the owner of this 90 TA. He called me because I had asked him to let me know what happened to the car. So here's the story - he had not been able to sell the car so he pulled all the parts that he wanted from it and is sending it to the crusher. The parts are all going on his 305 auto Camaro.
The engine is still in the car and the interior, not sure about the N10 and the GTA wheels. Gone are the rear end, 1le stuff, 5 speed conversion and Al driveshaft and spare. He let me know that the car was going to the crusher in a couple days as his wife wants it out of the yard as it now looks like a wreck. So he offered the shell to me for $2K. In short, I was stunned. First that no one had bought the complete running car that he said he was willing to take as little as 4K for (original price was 6500 when I looked at it), second that anyone would knowingly part such a rare car for easy to obtain parts for a plain jane Camaro and third that to save the car I would have to get it picked up by a flatdeck for an 8 trip and expensive ferry ride (total cost about $700) just to get a shell home with a ratty interior and then I have nowhere to put it. Literally, as I am already over stretched with projects.
So I'm not posting this so that we can all roast the owner (who is a member here) but rather to find someone willing and able to save this TA. The Craig's list add has expired but I have the owner's contact info (which I'm not posting here for obvious reasons) if anyone wants to pm me. The owner did say he would consider selling some of the original parts with the car as he would like to see the car saved but he was firm on selling the car as scrap in a couple days since it has to be moved from his yard. I know the motto on this site is don't crush them, restore them so here is a chance to save a rare TA for our hobby.

Wow. For people like me who don't own trucks or trailers, this would be expensive just to go save and the guy is still wanting that much before it goes to the crusher?! What a shame

Yeah, it will take more than a trailer as the rear end is out as well. He is willing to put parts back in - just nuts and bolts were his words, completely ignoring originality. However, this car did need a complete restoration so all those parts needed to be removed anyways. It would have been okay for another year or so as a driver before it was totally rusted out.
