For the statement this car is making, no A/C or T tops makes it even more desirable.
Nice car, price will come some day.

Car was for sale for over a year on Car Trader. I spoke to the owner months ago before buying the 92 G92 car that Damien had for sale on this board. This car sold for big coin back in 08, I believe, at the BJ auction in Scottsdale. Nice car, and nice guy that owns it, too. For me, it was simply too much car for what I wanted. Really, you'd have to store it, too, and not drive it. I really love the car, as my 82 was the same exterior color combo as this one. Good luck.

Besides the owner not having anything close to a steady hand while taking most of those pics, its a beautiful car. Really should have found a friend with a nicer camera and took about a hundred or so pics. Ive seen quality pics on ebay before...
So that being the L69 Z28, that was the top dog car for 84. But somewhere along the line the radio must have been replaced.

We have pics of this car on TGO from a few years ago when the car was parked up against a wall in the garage. It was also discussed that the radio had chrome buttons instead of black and the front was missing the cover between the radiator support and the bumper cover.

I saw that this morning on ebay after it was posted. Very nice, the red "Camaro X3" interior is cool. It will be interesting to see if they get the asking price.

Non equipped A/C cars came without the filler between rad support and bumper cover. Here is picture of factory correct radio.

Beautiful car. Dont know if its worth 30,000 but still a nice example of what camaros looked like factory fresh in the day. I'd say the radio is original with the chrome *****. Why would the original owner swap it with a different factory radio after it was sold new or even swap the *****? Just not a wow factor for the car to do that swap. Car only has 14 miles on it and a few of those has been put on with this owner.

This car came from the factory with the AM/FM stereo with Seek/Scan, cassette tape, clock and graphic equalizer. I have a picture of the window sticker when it was posted in 2008.

The smaller picture is because you uploaded the picture from your computer. After the picture is uploaded, right click on the picture name in the "manage attachments" section and select "Copy image location". Click the yellow mountain icon above your message window and paste the link location.

Guys this car is not what it appears to be, and the seller was duped at B-J when he paid $24k before the buyers premium was added. I will post some pictures for all to see, and you can make your own conclusions..................RatPack........................
The first three pictures show the driver side door hinge area, the headliner, and the rear decklid panel at the glass on the driver side......

These pictures show the passenger door hinge area, and two of the wheels up close....... Still believe the car has 14 miles on it? At the time these were taken it had 6 miles on the clock...........

Re: ORIGINAL 14 MILE 1984 L69 Z-28...MUST SEE
Here are the last two.....the driver sticker in the door jamb with the last six of the vin #113459.......... The speedo cable was not hooked up when I looked at this car but I forgot to get a picture of it sitting on the crossmember. This car was a demo for the original dealership and from what I was told by a guy that use to work there the car sat outside for years under a shed covered up. He also told me parts were "taken" from the car at one time, mainly the radio............... This car shows more than 14 miles on the clock, and I bet it hasn't been detailed anymore since these were taken August 2007. The car was sold at the B-J auction in Scottsdale in 2008.
Now this is still a nice car that needs a lot of detail work and needs some parts replaced to be brought up to looking like a 14 mile car. However there were some issues with it when I looked at it, and there were a lot of warranty replacement parts that went with it. Whether those have been changed or not, don't know. I don't see this car bringing the $29k they are asking, but then again it might, and I passed on it for $22k back in 2007. The picture of the headliner is not real clear, but it was sagging on both sides. We tried to unload and drive the car off the rollback that delivered it, but the car wouldn't start due to bad gas in the tank or some other reason. It would have been a nice addition sitting next to my 5 mile 83 Monte Carlo SS that I had at the time.......................

This is starting to get a little bit ridiculous with all of these low mileage cars. I'd like to do a survey to find the car model with the most low mile examples out there. I'll bet money 1982-92 F-bodies would win, hands down.

Re: ORIGINAL 14 MILE 1984 L69 Z-28...MUST SEE
Thanks for the pix! Some of this wear could be explained by crappy GM build quality but I agree with you, it seems pretty ratty for a 14 mile car, especially the door hinge wear. Even ignoring that, I'd rather pay 1/2 the money for one with 20,000 miles on it. It would be in better shape and you could drive it.

Re: ORIGINAL 14 MILE 1984 L69 Z-28...MUST SEE
Based on what I see here, the condition of the car is accurate for a car that was sitting. If I remember correctly, the BJ advertisement a few years ago stated the car was stored in a climate controlled location. Headliners will fall after a 20+ years if the car isn't stored in climate controlled areas. My '87 headliner fell a few years back and my car is babied.
The door jambs aren't too bad for a white car, but the rims were definitely swapped out out. It's illegal for the speedo cable to be disconnected on a "new" car. Obviously the miles are inaccurate with the disconnected cable and the invoice marked as demo. I have heard of too many horror stories about cars purchased at Barrett-Jackson. Too bad that they command a premium there and many might be fakes.
Thanks for the updated pics Rat Pack. We've seen other cars sell at auction that were advertised as near perfect and carrying very low miles just to find out the car was damaged when delivered and was donated to a school. The car sat for years and the school fixed the car years later. This was a black Trans Am with A pillar and windshield damage from '83 (??). The car sold a couple years ago for top dollar as all original.

Where's the air conditioning? And no t-tops either? TF. Well I guess you wouldn't need either if those if you're only going to put 14 miles on it in 30 years.
Stupid nice car otherwise, condition/options/colors, etc.

Thanks Rat Pack. I agree with Scott, looks low miles, but no well kept. Disconnecting the speedo cable is probably SOP for a dealer car like that. Legal or not.

Re: ORIGINAL 14 MILE 1984 L69 Z-28...MUST SEE
The consignor for the car while at B-J was the same dealer I tried to buy the car from. He said the same thing to me that it was stored in a climate controlled facility, and he even went as far as to say the car was special ordered by the dealers son to go racing with it. I did my due diligence to research the car, and came across a guy that worked at that dealer when the car was new. What is sad is what the guy actually paid for the car before trying to sell it to me....$6500.00 which I offered to give him double his money before sending it back to him. He wouldn't take it, but hey he made out better by not doing it. I know of probably 30 mid-80's cars with less than 10 miles on the odometer, and NONE of them look this rough. Heck that 5 mile IROC wasn't this bad found in a container.
I wonder if the dealer invoice is still with the car? I know the seller didn't know it was in the paperwork when I looked at it which I am glad I snapped a picture of it before letting it go back! It caught him off-guard when I asked about the "demo credit" note on it. That was a dead give-away this car was used more than what it showed. As for the headliner yes I have seen them fall if the car has sat outside and gone through the hot/cold cylces of the weather over the years. I just now replaced mine in my 83 SS that has 70k original miles on it. It fell just a few months ago just shy of 30 years old.....

Re: ORIGINAL 14 MILE 1984 L69 Z-28...MUST SEE
Thanks for the compliment on the SS. Wish I had kept it. Sold it to a guy in Florida a few years ago to buy a handicap accessible van for my oldest Son. I saw the car last year at a Chevrolet dealer in NJ where he had traded it in on a new Equinox, and the guy drove it a lot, like 3800 miles!!! Still in great shape just with a lot more miles on it..................... Could have bought it for less than half of what I sold it for two years earlier, someone beat me to it!!!

Most dealers didn't disconnect the speedo but there were some that were unscrupulous......lol!

"Demo" could mean many different things I guess, from being an auto show model to being driven on test drives. The only way to tell if it's the latter would be to either get a time machine or look at the car's condition, as you did. From what you've shown, I'd agree one would be right to be suspect of the mileage in this case.

Not trying to revive the dead, here, but, has anyone seen this car lately? It made the rounds and changed hands a few years back. Anybody seen the car? Looking for something just like this, and had to ask the question. Thanks, Oldtimer!
