Found original photo of my 84 - Could these have been QHW tires?

Hunted down some images I recall taking almost immediately after we bought this 84 Firebird back in 1985 or 1986. I noticed the tires are GOODYEAR VECTORs with RWLs (205/70R15). Could these have been the QHW tires shown on the RPO decal in my car? QHW tires have not come up consistently in my searches for RPO codes - I did find one reference to it likely being a base whitewall tire on Firebirds. If it matters, the car also came with F41/Y99 suspension options and of course the $38 trim rings.

Not sure about the tires, but that's a cool car and a cool old pic.

Re: Found original photo of my 84 - Could these have been QHW tires?

Found this article from Modern Tire Dealer back in 1984 that references the Vectors debuting in the retail market that year. However they had already been in production as OE tires for 84 model cars too. So it would have been a new tire on the production line in 1983. It also seems odd that Y99/F41 could be combined with the base steel wheels and that one might be able to get either the 205/70 or 195/75 tire on the base steel wheel - a lot of permutations! I'm inclined to think RPO QHW tires were the 205/70R14 Goodyear Vectors.

You may have to hit a survey button to see the entire article.

Yes these ARE the QHW tires - found my build sheet finally. It shows QHW as "205/70R14 LTR" tires. For some time now I've seen QHW posted as "base firebird" and "whitewall" tires here but nothing that corroborated that. I don't know who controls the site's RPO list but I suggest updating it, at least for 1984, to include the info provided here.

Found it back in 1986 and I don't recall where exactly - I seem to recall finding two sheets under one of the front seats shortly after buying the car. Dug it up againout today from a receipts folder and scanned it in w QHW info. The second sheet (pictured below) may have been stuffed up in the springs of one of the seats.

I'd like to figure out how to 'decode' some of the info on the build sheet (lots of 2 letter codes) but after searching through some threads it doesn't look like there's a lot of info on some of those codes. Anyway I do hope someone updates the RPO database to include the proper (for 1984) QHW information.

The build sheet includes RPO ZK1 which is NOT on the SPID.

The SPID contains a number of RPOs, mostly relating to interior items, not included on the build sheet.

Note one RPO contains a typo on the build sheet. Look at UTI. Most online databases and the SPID list it as UT1 (one). Looks like GM transposed an 'I' for a '1' on the sheet.
