That fact that you have the SPID (what you called the arm rest build sheet) means more then the cowl tag. So no, it probably won't hurt the value of the car.
Adding the Daytona hood to the car probably won't increase the value, if anything it may lower it or make it harder to sell.

Agreed with AmorgetRS.
Additionally, my GM book stated that starting in 1985 not all vehicles got that trim tag. So it may not have been removed as it may not have been there.

Re: Any help?
This is what I have also noticed that some cars have them and others don't. It wasn't because they were removed, GM just never put them on some cars. At one time I thought I had it figured out why some have them and other original cars didn't, but each time I found original cars without them I would run into another original car with the tag in the same year and similar models.
Here is a very good example of what I am saying. How often would you ever have two cars that you owned that only had one car built in between them? Not very likely! Right!
I bought a 1988 IROC convertible about 20 years ago.
Then I bought another 1988 V6 sport coupe for my 16 year old son from the original owner about 6 years ago.
When we got the title on the sport coupe only one car had been built between the 88 convertible with a 305 TPI engine and the 88 sport coupe with a V6 engine. I always thought that certain models were built in batches on the assembly line with similar engines, etc. The only thing they have in common was that they were both the same color white in 1988. The convertible started life as a t-top coupe and the sport coupe as a hard top. I still own both of them.
Anyway, we started looking for the radiator support tag and found that the sport coupe didn't have one and the convertible did. Knowing the original owner we asked if it was ever damaged and had front end work done. The reply was no.
So on goes the mystery of the metal radiator tags!

Re: Any help?
I appreciate the help,im still new to this but im slowly getting my z to were i want it.I really find it odd that thier is a possibility that my car didnt come equipped, but the SPID say its a z so wutever=).Now with the daytona hood, was this an option or was it a total aftermarket piece? Before my father gave me the car for my 16th birthday(i am very fortunate that he hooked me up) he found this old nasty hood,he told me he saw em on cars back in the 80's.Is this true?
