1984 Camaro California Sport Coupe?

I have been looking at some Third Generations and recently found an '84 and the guy is telling me it is a California Sport Coupe Edition. I can't find anything about this model other than a Standard Sport Coupe.

Can you guys help me out and answer my question. Is there such a thing as a California Sport Coupe or is this guy just not sure of his facts?

Thanks

I don't think the 1984 came with an SPID with the RPO codes so you could check the following...

Check the Vin# and see if it has an "E" in the 10th digit. That would first confirm that it is a 1984 Camaro.

To be a "California Iroc-Z" that does in some ways look like a sport coupe, it would have to be have an "F" in the 10th digit of the Vin # to start with. This would confirm that it is a 1985 Camaro. That is the only year they made the "California Iroc-Z"

Next check the Vin# to see if it has an "F" in the 8th digit which is for the LB9 305 TPI engine which they all came with.

The only colors they came in were red and black. They were stock with fog lights.

It should also have 16" Iroc wheels if stock and a tire sticker on the driver door saying it came with 16" tires if it is the original door on the car.

There are other things you could double check if it has any of the above items.

You can also go to...

I hope these things help.
