my second 3rd gen to my small collection, found on fate.
I stumbled into these cars when I was very young. And like I "accidentally" acquired my first 3rd gen, I recently came upon my second. I was originally searching for a nose piece from a 84 when i stumbled onto a string of car ads. seeing that most of the prices were ludicrous (10-15 grand, and most of the cars were badly damaged and rusted) I humorously was thumbing through them when i saw something unusual. An 84 Trans Am, 22k original miles, in almost perfect condition for a very reasonable price? It turned out to be a dealership who was stuck with a near-30 year old car that they could not finance and could not sell (due to the fact that few people are walking around with 9 grand in their back pocket). They had dramatically lowered their price and i was curious, so i called. Long story short, I now have a very beautiful black car sitting next to my white one. I only wish I could speak to the cars original owner! I find it hard to believe that he parted with this car willingly, and i'm curious about its history

That car looks great man! You need to get some original wheels on that asap, but I really like it!

Awesome lookng car man and the wheels are not the best on there, but not the worst I have seen, but a car like that needs OEM's on it. I think sometimes dealer think they are sitting on a gold mine only to end up with a lot orinment LOL! Gald to hear you got a good deal on her.

Great find! I agree on the wheels. Replace those Cragars with factory wheels.

That is a good deal! Beautiful car. I too agree that I would replace the wheels with originals.

Actually, I like the after market wheels. Gives it a 'Day Two' look. Are they Cragars?

Re: my second 3rd gen to my small collection, found on fate.
I think I remember seeing this car on eBay a while back...well actually I've just checked my registry and it's there indeed. It's an LG4 according to the VIN. At the time it had 21561miles (when I look at the date of the pictures, it was three years ago) and was in Edinburg, PA. I remember it because I was trying to find a color for my car at the time, and black/silver was an option and this one was a prime example.

Haha thats it! It still has the Penn brake tag on it. Small world, I'm really amazed someone didn't buy it off eBay. I had to beat people off with a stick

I have a set of original wheels that were offered on it but the problem is that they have some pretty bad curb rash . I need to find a better set, but where to look?

To be honest I'm not really sure what they are. They look good in person but I plan to hunt down a good set of original wheels for when I take it to car shows. I have two sets but one is on my 89 and the other is pretty messed up, a lot of curb rash from previous owner misuse

Awesome score! I'd love to see some detailed shots of the engine bay (vacuum hose routing, factory paint marks, etc). One day I hope to restore my 84 Trans Am to its original factory condition.
