Color combination rarity

I'm trying to find the color combination rarity of my 1992 Z28 convertible heritage package.

I have used compnine with success for breaking RPOs, but say rarity not available at this time for my vehicle...
http://www.compnine.com/vid.php?vin=...0726&x=17&y=11

From what I have found in other threads here there was 208 Z03 Z28 auto trans made. Where do I go to find how many of those 208 were black w/ red stripes, and maybe even a step further to ask with grey leather interior.

Appreciate any help

Doubt you're gonna find that info since GM didn't keep exterior/interior combos. I wonder how someone came up with 203 Z03 Z28 Auto Trans built? Were they standing at the end of the final assembly line and counting them? I wouldn 't trust that 203 number.

The White Book does list the various RPO codes and the quantity of cars that receivwed them plus the cost of each one.

Here is a quote from the White Book: 'An exterior appearance option called the Heritage Package (RPO Z03) included hood and deck stripes, a body-color grill, black headlamp pockets, and a special deck lid badge. Z03 was available with all models, but exterior colors were limited to Artic White, Black, Bright red, or Purple Haze for Z28s'.

Again, from the White Book:
1FP87 Camaro Z28 Convertable 8-cylinder = 1254 built
MXO Transmission, auto with overdrive = 55783 built
Z03 Heritage Apperance Package = 8197 built

Trying to break-out your specific package would be pure guess work and not at all reliable.

However, if anyone can show me a reliable way to do it, I'am ALL ears.

Re: Color combination rarity

I found this info in the "is my car rare thread"... I'm not sure where Okfoz found the information.

I do not have any Definite numbers, all I have is about 90%, so i have not added them

There were at LEAST

6,606 Z03 Camaros (hard top/T-top) of those...

20 - Z28/LB9/MM5 (Hardtop W/O G92)

49 - Z28/LB9/MM5,CC1
51 - Z28/Lb9/A4 (W/O T-tops)
100 - Z28/LB9/MM5/G92 (No T-tops)
264 - Z28 LB9/A4/CC1
571 - Z28/L98 (all had G92) (Not T-tops)
1,263 - RS/V6
4,288 - RS/L03

538 Z03 Camaro Convertibles

5 - RS/V6/MM5
13 - RS/V6/MX0
34 - RS/L03/MM5
58 - Z28/LB9/MM5
208 - Z28/LB9/MX0 (A4)
220 - RS/L03/MX0

There were 70008 Camaros made in 1992, where I got the numbers only has 3465 Convertibles and 59850 Hard tops/T-top cars, Therefore there are 6693 cars missing from the database for 1992, only 1990 is it complete in the database... The numbers are as close as we can get, But since its not complete, I did not feel that it was as accurate as it should be...

Welp, I sure would like to know where those numbers came from. Does anybody know?

There is a statistical method (which I can't think of the name of right now) which takes known quatities and tries to 'extract' certain combinations of unknow quantites from them. The Vette and 1stgen Camaro guys sometimes use it to try to justify how rare a certain car is. But, the method is not accurate and doesn't get 'at' a true number.

So heres what it boils down to in getting a rarity value for your car:

WAG = Wild *** guess.
SWAG = Scientific wild *** guess.

LOL....Take your pick.

Re: Color combination rarity

Those numbers came from Compnine before they redid the site.

Do you have any clue why they dropped the rarity calculator? It works for my 91, but not either of my 92's.

I guess I'm looking for SWAG on this one LOL!

Re: Color combination rarity

My only guess would be that 1992 data is incomplete enough they didn't want to put it out there. I am not sure how many records are missing for 1991, though.

For the WAG as to how many... about 10.7% of 1992 Camaros built were black... so out of 208 I'd say about 22.

I guess so. Must not be enough missing info to have the rarity calc for 91 though.

You WAG makes me laugh. Not sure how close your percentage is, but makes me think about how 64.5% of internet calculations are completely made up HAHA.

You WAG sounds good to me though. I have only seen one other Z03 vert with black w/ red stripes... BlueZee28's and his had red interior.

Re: Color combination rarity

Here is where I got my numbers: http://www.camarosource.ca/camaro_in....php?year=1992

Says that 7,524 are black, total production for the year is 70008.

And only 64.5%? I heard 78.3%....

So your WAG was really a SWAG. 19.34 cars if I punched my calculator correctly.

78.3% is accurate if your talking racing, women, or beers
