History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
I would say it is. It has a Washington license plate and same miles as the one I saw on the Seattle CL. If it had a picture of the 5.0 Liter HO emblem on the rear bumper that was broke in the middle it would be the same one. Nice looking car, I was thinking about looking at that one, but the weather has been so bad lately I didn't do it.
L69 IROCs are very, very rare and it's cool that you have one. They only made 2,497 L69s in '85 and 74 in '86 due to alleged fuel boiling problems. And it's disputed whether any of the '86s were actual street cars.
Using a (likely very generous) estimated survival rate of 10%, that leaves us with about 250 85-86 L69s. And don't forget that not all of them will be IROCs. Some will be Z28s. Many others will be clapped out and modified beyond virtual recognition. I think your odds of getting struck by lightning are better than finding another nice example on here!
FWIW, it would be cool if you could post pics of this rare vehicle in this thread for historic purposes.
I have just brought one in New Zealand. 42000 original miles on it. Still has the orginal tires on it....
I have an '85 L69 IROC. It's mostly original, 240,000 KM on the metric odometer, console clock, t-roof. I added some DigiTails LED tail lights, some LED square halos for the headlights which are connected to the marker lights, aluminum rear window louvers that someone had on a '83, a Klaxon (Ahooga) horn that my dad bought used in the 60's that's connected to a button under the dash, a small but obnoxious grim reaper sticker on the side of the window louvers, a Retro Manufacturing radio that looks more or less period correct and fuzzy dice on the rear view mirror. It's blue on the outside and grey in the inside. I got it repainted and some new floor mats last year. I've had it since 2002 and I drive it to work every day in the summers. It's pretty reliable and I get lots of thumbs up from strangers when I'm driving it.

I have a 1985 L69 iroc t5 t-top a/c car rear disk 3.73 gear power windows and locks lier siegler interior in charcoal color g code vin. Has 113,400 miles on it. It’s in great shape just picked up oem recover kit for the seats. And to put a factory hood back on the car. Would love you know how many are still out there of these cars.
85 l69, eventually I’m gonna put my stock wheels back on and put the original hood on. car has around 100k miles and is mostly stock except a cam, heads, intake, carb, and a few other little things. Have most of the stock stuff tho if I want to convert back to original.
