Re: what are you guys paying for insurance?

Since my car is under my dads name, we pay $45 a month for it. If I was under my name it would be about $250 a month I think. I'm 19 with no accidents.

Re: what are you guys paying for insurance?

If you are 18 its gonna be a little higher than some of the numbers I've seen above. Im 20 but when I was 18 and had my IROC I had it insured under my parents name and it was like 75 a month. Now my current car is a 91 Z28 hardtop with a 350 and Im on my own plan with progressive and I pay $130 a month. That's full coverage for everything which I learned was a must when someone hit my IROC and totaled it.

Re: what are you guys paying for insurance?

This is the one time that becoming an old guy is a good thing. I can remember being in my teens and 20's and paying a fortune for insurance. I'm 35, multiple car discount, no tickets, no accidents. My Camaros are also listed as pleasure driving not daily driver. $29.30 per month full coverage or $16.07 per month liability for the 91 Z28. Just happened to have it wrote down on my desk since I bought the 91 a few weeks ago.

Re: what are you guys paying for insurance?

Farmers insurance in Texas with full coverage, no accidents or tickets(thank god for a great attorney) and I pay about $660 for a 6 month policy. I know its a lot but if there is ever a claim, they take care of it with no questions or drama. It's worth the extra cost for my time.

Re: what are you guys paying for insurance?

I pay $190.00 a yr.0 deductible, total coverage,I'm only allowed 6000 miles a yr.they would only insure it for $6200 that is THEIR book value,I can insure it for more if I get it appraised.the value automatically increases yearly.

My wife's aunt is a Farmers insurance agent and that is who she was with prior to us getting married. She paid about what you are paying every 6 months. I was with State Farm and they wanted like $1400 every 6 months for both of our vehicles. Farmers was just about the same. Called progressive and for my bike, her 07 Ram, and 2 Camaro's I was paying $900/6 months. I'd definitely give progressive a call. I have full coverage on everything but my bike (storage insurance). Just my .

I will always suggest calling around to everyone and getting quotes.

:edit: And each of the Camaro's insurance came out to like $34-37/month.
