Re: Jim Wangers
Jim owns some beautiful, rare, low milage Pontiacs. And its fitting that he should since he spent his entire adult career as an insider at GM. Hes a walking encycopedia on Pontiacs.
I met him a couple years ago at Floyd Garrett's muscle car museum in Sevierville, TN. And yes indeed, he's a super guy and a true gentleman.

If you can't tell, we recieved a scanner for x-mas this year.
I expected chevy people to not know Jim W..
I did also have my car signed by John Schinella and Jim Mattison (of PHS)..
In 1971, Bill Porter moved on to another studio, and John Schinella became Chief Designer responsible for the Firebird. (John also worked on the 3rdgen body design)

Met him at the tiger run in Bend Oregon about 10 years ago. Nice guy, also met Arnie "the farmer" Beswick before his horrible crash, at the same event.

mr396, Jim Wangers and I were in the same Pontiac club in San Diego(pic), we had plenty of conversations, even Jim himself would correct you on this one, John Delorean was the Father of the GTO, and Jim will tell you he was the Godfather of the GTO.

Re: Jim Wangers
True. Jim's image was used as the 'front-man' in many early newspaper and magazene ads promoting the GTO. I think people naturally but incorrectly assume hes the godfather.

Re: Jim Wangers
Wanger's is a colorful fellow. Pontiac could have used a guy like that in it's last decade, instead of the comatose leaders it got.
