Re: Finally IROC Hot Wheels 2012 -Red
Larger wheels in back, forward rake, chopped roof, big engines, exhaust, etc. It's part of the Hot Wheels "look". If we kept it completely stock, it wouldn't be a Hot Wheels. It'd be something else.
Besides, many of the cars made (excluding adult collector vehicles) have track performance requirements. The larger wheels help with that, and kids/ track play is a large part of the business.

Are these part of the 2011 series, or is there a 2012 series? I have had no luck in finding this car, but I have noticed that every store that I check has 2011 series cars. There are some neat 2011 cars out there, like the '87 GN and the '92 Mustang GT, but alas, I have come up empty handed on '85 IROC cars.

Re: Finally IROC Hot Wheels 2012 -Red
I bought all mine except for one... I have not seen one good one in the store yet. All I see is 2011 editions. I think I need to unload all the one out and hide them to get some of the new ones out for sale. I even found one HW today from 2009 still on the hanger... crazy!

Sorry but $15.50 so far? Some have gone into the $25+ range. Not going to happen with me, more will show up. I am still looking for one though.

Re: Finally IROC Hot Wheels 2012 -Red
my apologies for the double post, but I have something on my chest that I want to get out.
why are there 40 of some crap vehicle and none of the one I (or anyone)want! Why make hundreds of the plain ones, and 2 or 3 of the ones we want! You can't tell me this makes sense to anyone. You could hire a child and ask them which ones to make a lot of and which ones not to. It doesn't make any sense at all.
I'm done ranting now.

Re: Finally IROC Hot Wheels 2012 -Red
last night at Wal-Mart I met a guy who was camping out the boxes of inventory that they were going to stock the shelves. He said that hot wheels put out cars by the case code. The case code is the last letter on the top back of the card. If memory serves our iroc is case code D. Once they move to the next case code, they don't go back and make the older case codes. So basically, what there is now is all there will be.

Re: Finally IROC Hot Wheels 2012 -Red
I just picked up six of them at Toys R Us. They all vary slightly from each other. Three of them have some of the tail light paint on the bumper cover, one of them is missing the black impact body molding stripe and the red paint varies a little on each car. Found them at the first place I tried after about five minutes of looking thought I was going to come up empty and have to go somewhere else. I would have to say they were the best looking Hot Wheels cars at the store (most of them are really bad). I looked at all the cars and the only other cars that I bought were a 2012 ZL1 and two '68 COPO. Figured for a dollar a piece I would start a little Camaro collection. I really love my 1990 5.7 G92 IROC-Z and Thirdgen.org's vast amount of information from injector swaps to Hot Wheels.Thank you TGO and members.

Evidently, Mattel doesn't feel the need to send those cases to south Georgia, because I have been looking in every store that carries them since this thread started and still have yet to find one. I have found 4 Treasure Hunts, but no IROCs, so I guess its not all bad.

Re: Finally IROC Hot Wheels 2012 -Red
Found 2 at a San Antonio Toys R Us yesterday, after a month of looking. I will say it was kinda frustrating to have found a Treasure Hunt GT-40 before finding the New Release IROC-Z!
I plan on leaving one MIB, and opening the other, drilling out the rivets to take it apart, and painting the interior and touching up the body, such as the headlights, tail lights, underside, and any paint errors. I've done this before on the Back To The Future DeLorean, including painting a tiny flux capacitor on the back wall between the seats. The finished result is almost on par with a Johnny Lightning release in terms of detail!
BTW, noticed they got the underside incorrect on the IROC-Z. It was molded with a true dual exhaust, which no factory 3rd gen ever had. The way it's sculpted on the underside isn't even remotely physically possible on a 3rd gen. Sloppy research or lack of attention to detail on Hot Wheels part?

It's Hot Wheels. We don't do stock exhausts....
In all seriousness, I don't put stock exhausts on any cars I work on. To date I've worked on 16 different castings (in stores), and not one of them has an oem stock, single tube exhaust. There's even a 4 banger car I worked on coming out later this year, and it too has a true dual exhaust.

I got mine online. If I see anymore in stores then ill more than likely pick them up.
my mistake also include paint on the bumper from the tailight. Its kinda funny how they go into detail enough to put the 5.0 liter h.o. but can't finish the stripes or at least black headlight buckets.
