Not a convertible. But found it to be some interesting info about the 3rd gen I have never seen.
Too bad they never actually sold these...

This was far more than a B4C... it had the C4 L98 with the ZF 6-speed transmission. Would have been a knockout package and just as if not more desirable than a 1LE or Firehawk. Best of all, it's in RS trim with the nice wedge spoiler instead of the wings and flippers of the Z28. Too bad they didn't build it.

That was the proposed Heritage edition Camaro. They didn't want it competing with the Vette, and also the bean counters didn't like the numbers. It was still around as late as 94 I believe. I have a pair of articles that have that car featured. I believe one of them is on here in the media section.

One of these was floating around until the early 2000s. I remember seeing it on the Heritage Tour that Chevrolet put on back in 2000-2002. It was supposed to be crushed long ago, but was actually tucked away in a storage area that was found years later. I think it finally made it to the crusher now. It was supposed to be the limited edition Z28 for 1992. GM was going to make only 602 (just like 1967) and in RS clothes since there was no badging on the 67 Z28. The reason it didn't go into production was the cost. Our gov't requires that everything be certified including the engine, transmission, paint colors, rims, etc. The cost to get the car certified for each, for a limited run of 602, and being the last year, made it cost too much to produce.
