'82 value?
Friend locally is looking to sell an '82 Z/28. Does not run, has the LU5 cross fire 305CID 165 HP motor. T-tops, AT, AC. It's a little on the rough side but seems to be all there. How much is it worth? Pictures to follow a little later.

Re: '82 value?
Don't want to rain on the parade, but I would estimate somewhere between the towing fee and $300. The challenge is that there is not a whole lot there that is desirable. If the body and interior have major issues...........
My personal opinion is to save every Thirdgen I see, but passion and reality seldom meet.

Re: '82 value?
I will say it again, we are not certified appraisers here on TGO. We cannot give values based on the description you provided. We haven't seen the car, we haven't heard the car run. The car is worth somewhere between $150 - $15k. It might be in mint condition and someone can say it doesn't run due to a simple repair or it could be major issues. A few years ago, I could've advertised my car as a low mile original with the 350 engine, doesn't run. What's it worth? Most would think a low number, but after fixing a fuel pump, the car was back to mint.
So to summarize, it's worth whatever he gets for it.

Re: '82 value?
I bought my running 82 Z28, with Crossfire, for $400. Needed paint and a drivers floor pan. Interior was a 9 out of 10.
I'd have him list if for 1k just to see if he gets any bites. Wouldn't go any lower than $400 though. Depending on the condition of the rest of the car...a part out may bring more money, if he's got the time/space to do it.
