1982-1984 Fiberglass Hoods
Does anyone know where the hot wire for the air induction flaps on these hoods plugged in at? Mine was originally a Crossfire car, but that was all long gone when I got it. I plugged a hot wire into it and the flaps popped up. So I know they work but don't know how to get a signal to them to open when the go pedal is smashed.

Re: 1982-1984 Fiberglass Hoods
Mine still has the wiring harness plugged into it. So would I have to find a another plunger motor for the flaps? Or could I rig up a tranny kickdown switch to open it like the 80-81 Z-28's used to open their air induction flaps?

I would like to get some pics of the motor for the flapper and some of the air duct work, if any on this hood. I have a fiberglass hood, flapper and nothing else. Hard to find anything on these hoods, so I am guessing they must be pretty rare.

You could rig up a switch to the throttle so it'd open the flaps at WOT... Or you could just as easily get a vacuum actuated switch and wire it in so that when the engine is producing vacuum (idle) the flaps would be closed, and when the engine is revving and vacuum drops the flaps would open. Or you could use an RPM activated switch so that they'd open at a certain RPM... It's up to you, it's just a 12v solenoid, when 12v+ is on the power wire the flaps will open.
