Re: Got an offer to trade my Corvette
Hmmm, maybe the dealer guy is not a thirdgen fan or maybe his dad had a vett just like it or he got his cherry popped in one, who cares! and if for the OP his car is worth 11k or 100k is his car, respect that no need to be a d1ck about it
Nice Vett by the way, I would keep it!

I'm getting tired of people attacking the price of my car and stating this thread is a hoax....why would I make this up?? What do I have to gain from fabricating a story of a person wanting to swap me a 85,000 formula for my Corvette that isn't running at the moment?? Everything I've stated was true in this thread.
FWIW I have been getting cold feet about the trade all day, I do have a sentimental tie to my car because I built it from ground up, painted it myself (first time), did the engine myself(obviously not my strong point), and all the interior work inside and outside of the car.
Personally I like the body lines of the C3 corvette over the 3rd generation formula (no offense to the formula guys). I feel that the C3 corvette is a defined car and people know when it's coming down the road. I just love these cars, being under a cover you don't realize that until you pull the cover off. I've had a 1988 Firebird Trans Am before and have the utmost respect for 3rd generations.....but the feeling when I was driving my corvette was way different.
I emailed the owner of the formula and explained that I need a little bit to think about it, because I was getting cold feet and this was his reply....no editing and taken directly from his email.

I would have a hard time getting rid of but if you want a nice, clean driver that has been babied its whole life with low miles then you can’t go wrong with the WS6. No pressure from me because I don’t really care weather I sell my car. There will never be another Firebird made. 10 Years from now I will be slapping myself. I have always wanted a Vette and if this one works out then great. If not no biggie…
Let me know,

Because I backed out on the deal does it make me a liar? I hope not, it just means that I decided my corvette was worth more to me than I thought.
Thanks for the help everyone

It's obviously I'm not a third gen guy anymore and haven't been on this site much lately, but this pissing match has reminded me why. If I ever get another 3rd gen I may come back...

Ehh just report the people harassing you and let the mod's deal with it. It's an unfortunate fact that Camaros tend to attract a crowd that most people don't want to deal with. The trick is to not let it keep you from enjoying something that interests you.
I still think you should trade for the Formula. I've gotten "nice Vette" from random people more times then I care to remember.

Please don't let one or two people ruin the TGO experience. The History/Restoration board doesn't usually have this kind of behavior. Stop back and visit sometime.

88TransAmFreak,
Like Scott said, don't let this ruin it for you.. TGO (for the most part) is a good place, most of our members are courtious, unfortunatley a few make it a bad experience for everyone.
