Get your Canadian sold car documented through GM Canada
General Motors Canada has a department called "Vintage Vehicle Services" that will document vintage cars that were sold in Canada. All you need to send them is your VIN number and they do the rest.... (I don't know of any similar service in the US other than Pontiac Historical Services).
I got an info package from them a while back. I just thought I'd share the link ... I think the package cost me around 50 bucks when I got it. I don't know what they charge now. I had lost the link to GM Canada's Vintage Vehicle Services many years ago but while poking around tonight, I came across it again. Click on the URL below:

Out of interest, I've attached the first page of the info package that GM Canada sent me back in 1998.. It shows the neat stuff like when the car was made, how many were made, the name of the dealer who sold it etc.....

Actually not a lot more... They don't give you half of what Pontiac Historic Services provide.. For instance, you can't get a reproduction widow sticker...
The only other interesting document that comes with the kit is a copy of GM's specifications for the car. The 1990 Firebird specs make up a book that's 33 pages long... (I attached a scan of the cover page)
It shows all the available powertrains that were available for each model and shows the specs for engines, axles, transmissions, brakes, cooling, electrical etc..... There are also dimensions, capacities and weights.. It even includes the weights that various options add to the total weight of the car.
