Best way to restore the tranny oil pan?
I'm currently restoring the chassis on my GTA and would like to know the best way to restore the transmission oil pan? The oil pan has some corrosion forming on the ouside and I'd like to fix it if possible. Were the tranny oil pans painted by the factory? It kind of looks like paint or a thin powdercoat, but I can't be sure.

That's a good question. I don't think they were painted by the factory... just seems like a little plating or clear coat. Mine has a little edge discoloration... I'm planning to touch it up with some silver paint. If you want it to retain the original look, you can use steel wool and then paint it with clear coat.
