Here you go - it could be yours for only 125K. It's funny that the guy probably bought it for 17K.

I ordered my 86 Trans am in 85 and I know the order sheet was was for an 85 and it was a 500.00 option if I recall. The dealer told me they could get the same part and put it on if I wanted. I didn't. I just thought that was very expensive for a sticker!

Awesome thread! The black bird on the back of the hauler could very well pass for my '86 T/A. It's gold ground effects were painted black and has had a wheel swap to '88 crosslaces by it's previous owner, but that's exactly how it would have looked coming out of the factory. Hmm, you just never know! haha

So in looking at the green firebird with the orange plug on the back, could this a load of cars going to ASC for convertible conversion?
It looks like the other one you can barely see on the top, in front of the white T/A, has the same hatch cover.

Is that a subcontractor of ASC ? I thought ASC did all the verts for GM and the other companies did them after they went to dealer?

Leaving those bumpers on is like a old dude in the left lane going 55 in a 65 with the left blinker on for 60 miles...
If you really have to have those things go look in a dealers trash bin after they PDI a new car.
My grumpy old guy (walter) is coming out tonight..

Scott
I feel your annoyance with the "GM" Paint... my TTA is also afflicted. I tried professional quality CSI rubbing compound to lighten my passenger door and have it better blend with the right front fender...that is where it is the most noticible. I have had a annoying car show visit try and convince me that the right front fender was replaced.. I told him yes.... it was in a crash on 8 different occasions that took out my front fenders, front bumper, hood, sail panel, door, windshield pillars, side mirrors, rear quarters, rear bumper, rear spoiler (in 2 areas)-- ALL in separate incidents and all requiring a new shade of white. Anybody that knows the GM story knows that their paint technique was never perfected and could very depending on plant and day of the week/personnel. My step dad's 25th Anniversary Z-28 Convert in Purple Haze also encountered the mysterious clear-coat flaking on the rear spoiler and trunk lid/rear bumper and that car was ALWAYS garaged and covered... he had his resprayed under warranty and it started to flake 3 years later.
