Help me ID this car

Can anyone help me id the car in this magazine? I was told it was my hardtop/cloth car but trying to contact the Silver State Classic has gotten me no info other than Rick Joyce did have the car but has passed away a few years ago and they said they cannot verify the car for me. My car was definatly setup to do high speed runs with Bilstein shocks/struts with stiffer lowering springs along with evidence of previously installed safety equiptment including a roll cage and had 2.77 gears. The person I got the car from is in Reno, NV and the owner before him was in Ukiah, CA but I dont have info on any owners prior to that. The car was originally sold at Pat Clark Pontiac in Las Vegas, NV so the locations are right.

Any help finding this cars history would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help me ID this car

I believe there was a hardtop/cloth Turbo Trans Am used at Indy that had been turned into a Silver State car. It was wrecked and burned and sold on eBay a few years back. The car was completely toasted and was basically a total loss. I don't think it had the original engine in it at the time of fire so that had survived.

Yes there was a Turbo Trans Am that was supposed to be used at Indy and then turned into a Silver State car that burned up but that car was a t-top car seen here.

Re: Help me ID this car

It seems to be my car but as with everything else I'd like to have some sort of concrete proof, maybe some pictures from back then or something. But so far it seems the owner (Rick Joyce) and the driver (Terry Herman) have passed away. The only other reference I've seen about the car is an article by Joe Pettit, then the editor of sport truck magazine, who stated that he drove the car during the Silver State to around 160mph (while owned by Rick Joyce) but I havent been able to find any way of contacting him. If you have any info on other articles referencing the car please let me know.

Re: Help me ID this car

I started a thread awhile back about some magazines that we had stored in the basement, and we actually found a few boxes more since then. I've been slowly but surely scrolling through them for the third gen related articles, and I'll definitely keep my eye out for any articles in reference to that particular TTA for you. By the way, Jim (phillyturbosix) and Paul (pacecarta) over on the TB forums might know ahead of time, as they are human encyclopedia's when it comes to the GN/TTA's....

Re: Help me ID this car

I see that you're located in NY, did you happen to attend a wnyfbody/newyorkfbody Barbeque in the Buffalo area with one of your Turbo T/As somewhere around 3 years ago? I remember it having tan leather interior and very low milage.
