My question is should I be worried about an engine that has more than 200,000 miles on it? What should be checked such as tolerance and such (if I purchase the car) to make sure that the engine isn’t shot. The plan would be to take it out and build a 383. The other question is that it was converted to a 5spd, what I should be concerned about getting a car that was converted. I’m not sure exactly what is required in a conversion of auto to manual swap and want to know if it can be a problem down the road; and would I just be smarter to original manual transmission car?

The reason this car is so intriguing to me is that it has the t-top/350cu/manual transmission that I want in my car, and also have been looking at getting a project car that I can tinker with while driving.

I want to know your ideas on this deal.

they didn't make a stock 350 5 speed camaro I'd check to make sure it's not a 305 and even if it isn't it still not the stock engine i would run the vin on the motor and see what comes up and where it came from

I know they didnt. In the description it was stated that the 5speed was swapped into the car which makes me think it was an orig. 350 auto car prior to the swap.
