Re: HOW TO VERIFY A REAL GTA ???
Only 2 ways to 100% verify GTA "status"....
Look at the SPID sheet, either in the center console, rear "glove compartment", or possibly under the carpet, for the RPO code of Y84.
If you finnd the SPID &there is no Y84, it isn't a GTA.
The other way is to pay PHS $50 for a complete package on the VIN #, which they'll research back & get the SPID sheet of the RPO codes.
You can 99% fake a GTA. I mean, you can detail everything on the car to a GTA, but without Y84 on the SPID sheet, its just a clone.
Nothing wrong with clones, like 69 Yenkos, as long as you aren't advertising it as such.

Re: HOW TO VERIFY A REAL GTA ???
1) The GTA had the plain fenders, the Trans Am had the vents thru 1990
2) The GTA could have been had with the LB9/A4 in 87, 88, 90,91 & 92. Since this is a 1990 car that tells us nothing...
3) The Door should fit, you may have to remove the Ground effect, not sure... You should be able to make the 1990 GFX work on the 1991 Door, not sure if the holes are located differently.
4) The Front fenders are the same for all years Firebird, Formula ,S/E, GTA, only the Trans Am is different, However you will have to drill some holes in the bottom of the fender to mount the Ground effects if the donor car does not have them or if the donor car is from a different sub generation, IE 82-84, 85-90, 91-92 are the sub-generations...
5) The SPID sheet or RPO sheet should be either in the Center console, or the rear compartment, I think in 1990 they were still in the center console...
Just a note, 1990 was a unique year, it was the first year for the new interior ( basically the lower dash, Door pads, arm rests & Airbag) and the last year for the fascias & ground effects... AND it was a short year, they only made cars through Dec 31, 1989. Therefore no 1990 cars were actually made in 1990... 1991 Production started in Feb 1990.
Welcome to the board...

Re: HOW TO VERIFY A REAL GTA ???
thanks John,
I can't find that sheet. not in the console or the rear compartment.
if it's uner the carpet do you know where they would have put it? front rear? I will find it when I find a black replacement front carpet for it as I need to change that.

Re: HOW TO VERIFY A REAL GTA ???
If you're REALLY lucky you might find a build sheet. Mine was under my carpet above the Catalytic Converter. I have heard people say they have found them in the springs of the front seat, under the carpet above the Gas Tank, I some other misc places even behind the front bumper...
Good luck on that one...
