Car: 1982 Trans Am
Engine: SBC 400
Transmission: 700-R4
Axle/Gears: 9 Bolt 2.77
Help...What style of Recaro seats were used in thirdgens
Anyone know the style name of the Recaro seats used in the Trans Am's?? I know there are different names used by Recaro, and not necessarily by GM. I know of three...Speed Seat, Specialist Seat, and SR models. I read somewhere recently what the name of the seat was, and I can't remember it or where I read it
They are all somewhat similar, but I'm thinking it's the Specialist Seat. They are also the same style used in the early 80's mustangs also. The way the side bolsters look are similar in both the vintage recaro's and newer models. Of course the head rest isn't open like the old ones. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it!

Great information. I never knew the actual name used by Recaro themselves.It would be really interesting to see if that brown seat matches the interior of a "Camel tan" T/A or S/E ...
