ok so my friend is dead set that my car is a fake z28.

He claims because it doesn't have rear discs its a fake were-as I checked the vin at it is a real Z apperently.He claims there diff vins and not the orriginal.

And his moms bf thinks its a fake cause it isnt full posi but that lsd style.
Also believes my interior is out of a older 3rd gen because 84's apperently didnt have the camaro style interior for the z28....

Enyway doesn't enyone have a pic of a sheetlist so I can see for myself.

gonna need to see some pics. and you might tell your mom's bf that "full posi" might be a spool and nothing comes factory with a spool. and lsd stands for limited slip differential and gm's posi-trac is a limited slip differential.

Nowhere in the VIN does it indicate that a car is a Z28. The VIN can only prove that a car can't be a Z28, if it shows anything other than a V8.

Posi and limited slip are the same thing by different names.

What's a "camaro style interior"? A Z28 is a Camaro, and had a Camaro interior.

If the 5th digit in the vin is a P,then it should be a sport coupe or a Z28.Thats if the vin is correct.S= berlinetta.The code was changed in 1987 to P,for all camaros.

If its an l69 then its definately a z28. That would be a G for your 8th digit. Just because its not there doesn't mean that its not real. They came with lg4 engines too. Also check for the z28 rpo code.

Your friend is really funny! I wonder then . . . since they made 100,899 Z28's in 1984 . . . and only 17,494 of all the cars made in '84 had rear disk brakes (RPO J65) . . . does that mean all of the other the other Z28's were fake from the factory???
I wonder what his answer for that is?

84's i think still had the Trim Tag above the radiator. The 1983's did. If it is a Z28 built in Norwood, it would be on the Trim Tag.

Yes, 84s have the cowl tag.

I know its a real Z28.

The vin is correct and my cowl tag is still there indeed.
But hes basing himself on the rear disc.Good to know only a rare few came disc and no where near all of them.

His moms bf claims its a fake cause its not a posi ??? wen the PO i know didn't pu tthe posi additif ( wich i should do tommorow at work indeed,or the clutch packs are done ).

He also said my interior ( the one printed camaro all over it ) was out of a nother car wen ive seen 84's with the same int.

I showed him my tags he claims they swapped them :laugh:

Number of Z28's in 1984 . . . 100,899
Total Camaros with RPO G80 in 1984 . . . 17,837
Again, the number of '84 z28's that had limited slip was very few.

The "Camaro" interior was offered from 83 through 86.
