Re: where these made in the USA

3rd gen cars were all assemblied in two plants in the USA.
Norwood, Ohio & Van Nuys, Califorina. All 4th gen cars were assembied in Canada.

Re: where these made in the USA

Camaros were built in the Norwood, Ohio plant from '67-'87 and the Van Nuys, California plant from '67-'92. After that, as DJP87Z28 stated, production moved to Canada, the Ste. Therese, Quebec plant to build the 4th gen Camaro. Ironically, when the 4th gen Camaro production ended, so did that plant's life. It was then demolished. Currently, when the 5th gen production starts, it will again be in Canada at the Oshawa, Ontario's #2 assembly plant.

On a 3rd gen Camaro look at the VIN's eleventh digit. An L is for Van Nuys and an N is for Norwood.

Re: where these made in the USA

I guess it would depend on what part of the car your talking about. Engines were often made here in Flint MI, but some other engines like the one in my 87 was Made in Mexico. Rear axels were made in either Saginaw, MI (about 10 miles from where I live) or Australia...

Technically the cars were ASSEMBLED in Norwood, OH or Van Nuys, CA. AFAIK there was no part actually made on the grounds of the "Assembly Plant" of Norwood or Van Nuys. Honestly parts were made all over the world. I suspect since CHina is more or less newer in the international market many of our parts were made in Taiwan, Hong Kong (which is now China), & Japan. I believe that some parts like the Plastic T-tops were made here in MI... The major components such as Fenders, Hoods, larger items were porbably made in US factories. GM actually used different suppliers for Norwood and Van Nuys. For example cars made in OH usually have (I have yet to see an exception) PPG glass which is obviously Pitsburgh Plate Glass. LOF is mostly if not always on the Van Nuys built cars. LOF IIRC is Libby Owens FORD.

I hope that helps

John
